DISCIPLINE

In order to provide out students with the excellent educational climate they deserve, Laing Middle School has developed behavioral matrix, which is explained in detail in the student handbook and agenda.

Discipline Steps

1stminor: Refocus or BIR or Teacher Time Out 4th minor: Parent Contact and After School Detention

2ndminor: Refocus or BIR or Teacher Time Out 5th minor: After School Detention

3rdminor: Refocus or BIR or Teacher Time-Out and Parent Contact 6th minor: Office Referral

All minors are cumulative within the team. Severe classroom or school disruptions will bypass this plan and will be handled directly by administration. The goal of this plan is to intervene with students before their behavior results in office referrals to an assistant principal. We are a team as teachers, parents, and students. Our goal is for students to learn in a safe and supportive environment.

CONFERENCES

Our main concern is the academic and social success of your child. Seventh grade can sometimes be challenging with new experiences and added responsibilities. We are available for conferences per appointment to accommodate all teachers, and you may contact us by e-mail to schedule an appointment.
