- Amend or approve the minutes of the City Council meeting of May 14, 2018.
- Mayor’s Comments:
- Calhoun city offices will be closed on Monday, May 28th in observance of Memorial Day.
- A budget work session will be held immediately following tonight’s meeting.
- The second public hearing of the fiscal year July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019 Annual Operating Budget and Capital Plan will be held on June 11th, at 7:00 p.m.
- American Legion requesting adoption of a Proclamation expressing support for the designation of May 25, 2018, as National Poppy Day in Calhoun, Georgia in honor of our fallen, recognizing the importance of honoring those that have worn our nation’s uniform.
- Public Hearing and Comments:
Announce at this time, public hearings will be held. The public will have the opportunity to make pro and con comments with a ten-minute maximum time limit for each side of the matter, with each person speaking having filed a financial disclosure statement five days prior to the hearing if required, with each person giving their name and address. An inquiry should be made to determine if any elected official has filed a disclosure statement regarding ownership or special interest in any of the agenda items. Zoning Land Use Maps on display in Council Chambers for Zoning Advisory Board and Council hearings.

- A request by Echota Baptist Church to block the road beginning at the mailbox by the front steps of the church, College Circle, to the stop sign behind the church at Short North Wall Street from 5:00pm to 9:00pm on Sunday, July 15th through Friday, July 20th for Vacation Bible School.
- Parade request on the traditional route by Bud Owens for the Annual Northwest Georgia Regional Fair Parade on September 8th at 11:00am. (May be approved or denied, subject to GDOT approval).
- Parade request on the extended route by the Gordon County Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Development Authority for the annual Calhoun Christmas Parade on December 13th at 7:00pm (May be approved/denied, subject to GDOT approval).
- Motion to designate a voting delegate representing the City of Calhoun for the annual GMA membership business meeting. The meeting will be held on Sunday, June 26th at 3:15pm at the annual GMA Convention.
- Resolution to appoint a voting delegate and alternate to serve as the City of Calhoun’s voting delegate on the Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia’s Election Committee, authority to cast all votes to which the City is entitled. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 8:00 at the annual MEAG Conference.
- Motion needed to adopt the March 2018 Design Guidelines and Standards, Primary Connectors/Corridors and Gateways.
- Motion to approve the use of 2018 SPLOST funds to lease a 2019 Elgin Crosswind Sweeper for the Public Works Department. Total cost of $236,483.99 to be paid in six annual payments, beginning January 10, 2019.
