Already industry-institute interaction and collaboration had been initiated and 8 MoU had been signed with various industries. These MoUs are renewed and two more new MoU have been signed with Google and IBM.

Infosys - Campus Connect Agreement & Activities

MoU has been renewed with Infosys, at Infosys Development Centre, Bangalore on 23.12.13. After that, the Campus Connect programs for the activities carried out between Jan – Dec, 2014 have been clearly discussed in “Principals’ meet” at Infosys Development Centre, Chennai on 02.03.2015.

  • Prof. T. Rajakumar of MCA, Prof. R. Palanikumar of IT, Prof. N. Kalpana of MCA has attended a 5 days Deep Dive FEP on FP 4.0 at KLN College of Information & Technology, Madurai.
  • Prof. T.Ferdinant and Prof. S. Jeevarajan of CSE had attended the Train the Trainer programme at MAM College, Trichy.
  • 6 of our Faculty members participated in the Final Levels of INSPIRE Contest 2014 conducted at Infosys, Chennai Development Centre. They presented various CASE studies and Question banks for CAMP Model.
  • Prof. R. Karthik of CSE, Prof. P. Sathishraja of CSE , Prof. N. Krishnamoorthy of MCA, Prof. A. John Felix of MCA were awarded with silver medals and Prof. R. Palanikumar of IT, Prof. P. Rajakumar of MCA, Prof. T. Ferdinant of CSE, Prof. J. Emmanual Robinof MCA were awarded with bronze medals and these members were appreciated by Infosys. They would be given Sabbaticals, Publication support from Infosys.
  • Prof. N. Krishnamoorthy of MCA won the second place in “Distinguished Facilitator” Contest in INSPIRE Contest 2014.
  • Prof N. Krishnamoorthy, Prof J. Emmanual Robinof MCA has been sponsored with 5000 by Infosys for publishing a paper in Journal IEEE digital explore titled “ Independent knowledge extraction in nature of humorous text analysis review using Online text analysis tool “.

Apart from faculty, students and staff also actively participated in the various webinars conducted by Infosys like

INSPIRE 2015

  • The INSPIRE Contest is about to be conducted in the month of April, 2015 for which the preparation of Case Study, Project, CAMP model question bank, Distinguished Facilitator, Content Guru are being done by the staff members of CSE, IT, MCA & English departments respectively.

Roadshow

Roadshow on FP4.0 and Soft Skills for batches 2015 – 700 – 01 & 2015 – 700 -02 was conducted by Mr. Roy Antony Arnold George Charles on 23.01.2015 at Narayanamoorthy Hall, JCET Campus.

FP & SS Batches

  • Three batches on FP 3.1 were completed successfully for the year 2014 and certificates are about to be distributed.
  • Two batches on SS 2.0 were completed successfully for the year 2014 and certificates are about to be distributed.
  • Two batches on FP 4.0 and SS 2.0 have been initiated for the year 2015 and classes have been commenced.

Microsoft - Innovation Centre - Activities

BOOT Camp

The Microsoft BOOT Camp has been conducted and all three colleges are guided to develop Apps by Ms. Shamiksa & Mr. Vakith Khan of Microsoft and following that 3 checkpoints and 3 Telecalling were executed.

1st Checkpoint- Nearly 300 Apps were checked for its feasibility and coding Structure. 50 New ideas were initiated with guidance of Mr. Irfan and Mr. Rakesh from Microsoft.

2nd Checkpoint - Technical Compliance and content compliance errors were corrected by the students with the help of Mr. Vinay Patel and Mr. Sharath from Microsoft.

3rd Checkpoint - Uploading processes were explained and errors during uploading were corrected by Mr. Vinay and Mr. Sharath. Nearly 30 apps reached the windows store.

1st Telecalling - JCET-MIC progress had been dicussed by Dr. N. Kannan, Principal, JCET with Ms. Sameeksha Khare, Microsoft.

2nd Telecalling - JCET-MIC progress had been dicussed by Dr. N. Kannan, Principal, JCET with Mr. Lokesh, Microsoft.

3rd Telecalling - JCET-MIC progress had been dicussed by Dr. N. Kannan, Principal, JCET with Mr. Lokesh, Microsoft.

MTA EXAM

MTA exam conducted at JCET, nearly 206 students attended and cleared the exam on 25th & 26th of April, 2014.

Innovation Centre

Microsoft Innovation Centre at our campus has been modernized and inaugurated on 14.06.2014. The students were made to make use of this innovation centre to develop apps. As a initiative of this effort nearly 151 Apps were created and sent to the App Excellence Lab(AEL). They hit the Windows Store in the AppFest2014 conducted the previous year.

Webinars

Nearly 125 students of CSE, IT & MCA along with staff members attended a Webinar on Microsoft Azure on 02.09.2014.

Women Tech Club has been inaugurated to motivate the Microsoft new technology for female candidate.

This academic year

  • Two of our students from III CSE namely Ms. Ramyah V. S and Ms. Sindhuja were selected as MSA(Microsoft Student Associate)
  • One of our student from IV IT namely Ms. Vasugi was selected as MSP (Microsoft Student Partner).

Hackathon

This year we shave planned to conduct the Hackathon in the month of April, 2015.

Google

The tie up with google is also booming as the selection of GSA (Google Student Ambassador) was done on 22.08.2014. This year one of our student from III IT Ms. Lakshmi Keerthika has been selected as the GSA. The GSA Club was inaugurated 13.09.2014 to bring out the hidden talents from various departments of the college. An event named “Google Me” was conducted in which activities such as Logo design, Poster design, Marketing Key (AD Film), and Google Quiz were conducted.

National Instruments – Research Centre

An MoU has been with National Instruments Research Centre to establish a Research Centre in collaboration with NI in our College Campus to taste the benefits like to get NI project proposals, to get an NI collaboration certificate and to make use of virtual Instruments. MSME (Micro Small & Medium Enterprises) which provides a comprehensive range of services to the small scale industrial sector in Tamil Nadu in terms of technical assistance, Economic information services, provision of workshop facilities, training and other general consultancy services.

TCS – ION

MoU Signed between JCET and TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) have been maintained through which JCET has become a stakeholder to provide the assessment ready nodes in the business of providing computer based assessments. This MoU is helpful to the institution in the following aspects like Generating revenue to the college by providing the computer lab infrastructure to TCS without affecting the academic system. College - corporate interactions - Promoting the College, various bank exams have been conducted in the computer centre of the campus. JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) is about to be conducted on 10th & 11th of April, 2015.
