Update on the 2016 Key Stage 4and Key Stage 5 Performance Tables

Following the Department forEducation’s (DfE) publication of thelists of qualifications that will count in the Key Stage 4 (KS4) and Key Stage 5 (KS5) Performance Tables in 2016, OCR can confirm those qualifications that have been included in the KS4 and KS5 lists for 2016.

For KS4, we can confirm that Cambridge Nationals in Health and Social Care, ICT, Science, Business and Enterprise, Creative iMedia, Science in the Workplace, Sport Science and Sport Studies, which were included in the 2015 Performance Tables, remain on the list for 2016. These are joined by the Certificate in Applied History, Certificate in Living Texts,together with Cambridge Nationals in Engineering Manufacture and Principles in Engineering and Engineering Business.

As a result of the approval of our Cambridge Nationals in Creative iMedia, Engineering Manufacture, and Principles in Engineering and Engineering Business, three qualifications have been removed from the list and will count for the last time in the 2015 Performance Tables. These qualifications are:

For KS5, we can confirm that the majority of qualifications that we submitted have been accepted onto the list. The qualifications that have made the list will be for courses being taught from 2014 that count towards Performance Tables from 2016. The qualifications and their category are listed below:

Qualifications pending further evidence

The qualifications below require further evidence and so have been placed on a ‘pending’ list. We will be submitting this evidence to DfE in January, for a further publication of the list in the spring. We will be amending their statements of purpose and will publish additional letters of recognition in due course.

The following qualifications that we informed you we would be submitting to the lists have not been approved:

600/4227/8OCR Level 3 Cambridge Technical Certificate in Health and Social Care (QCF)

600/6175/3OCR Level 3 Cambridge Technical Certificate in Media (QCF)

500/4136/8 OCR Level 3 Certificate in Mathematics for Engineering

The Certificate in Mathematics for Engineering is considered an academic qualification and is therefore not eligible for either list. We are considering the DfE’s response on the two Cambridge Technicals qualifications and will provide an update in January.For further details on the publication of these lists, please see the relevant pages on the DfE website.
