Retreat start and finish times

The retreat will start with dinner at 6pm on Friday 9th October; and finish after lunch at 2.30 on Saturday 15th October. It is important that you are able to commit to the full retreat period, including the final day – please arrange your work/home commitments, and travel, to accommodate this.

•  Arrival Time: Please arrive at Mullumbimby after 3.00pm and before 5:00pm on Friday 9th October in order to pitch your tent or settle into your room and familiarize yourself with the venue; dinner will be served at 6:00pm.

•  Departure Time: After a shared lunch together on, Saturday 15th October and a scheduled clean up, departure time will be approx 2.30pm

About the retreat

Teachings on this retreat will draw from Jess’s direct experience, Buddhist vipassana, metta (loving-kindness) heart practices, and the poetic traditions. Guidance and support will be offered through meditation instruction, relaxation practices, connected movement classes, one-on-one interviews, group discussion, dharma talks, and meditative singing and dancing.

About Mullumbimby

For those travelling from interstate there will be a shuttle bus provided from the airport to the venue for an additional cost, to be paid on the day before boarding.

Accommodation

Accommodation will be at the Rising Phoenix Retreat Center at Mullumbimby and includes camping, and a limited number of simple, but comfortable shared rooms. Please note that we will give priority to those with special needs when rooms are allocated. There will be shared bathroom facilities.

Those who are camping will need to bring their own camping equipment and bedding. For those staying in a shared room mattresses are provided, however you will need to bring all your own bedding and linen, including a pillow.

Food and catering

Three nutritious vegetarian meals will be provided each day. We will also cater for vegan, gluten free and dairy free diets. If you have specific dietary requirements, please indicate this on your registration form, and we will accommodate where possible.

Retreat costs

7-day retreat costs: Shared room - $495 plus Dana

Camping - $460 plus Dana

The retreat cost above covers the basic costs of food, accommodation, and administration costs associated with offering the retreat including Jess’ travel costs, insurance and administration. The retreat cost does not cover the teachings, which Jess offers freely in accordance with the Buddhist dana tradition. Students are invited to make a dana (donation/gift) offering to Jess at the end of the retreat, as an expression of gratitude for the teachings. Your generosity will allow Jess to continue her work after the retreat is finished. Please note that there are no ATMs at Mullumbimby.

Booking for the retreat

•  Your payment in full would be appreciated.

•  If you are unable to prepay the full amount a minimum non-refundable deposit of $100 is required to confirm your booking.

•  There are a limited number of places available on the retreat, so early registration and full payment is encouraged to secure your place.

•  If the retreat is fully booked upon registration, we will place you on the waiting list, and notify you if a place becomes available.

To secure your place on the retreat, you will need to complete ALL THE FOLLOWING 3 STEPS:

2.  CONFIRM PAYMENT:

Once your registration form is received and your payment is made, please email the following to :

PLEASE NOTE: the balance of your fee is due no later than Wednesday 13th SEPTEMBER 2016. If your balance is not paid by this date, your place on the retreat may be offered to someone else

When your Registration Form and deposit or full payment have been received, we will send a confirmation letter with practical details about the retreat (directions, what to bring etc.).

Cancellation Policy

We understand that circumstances change, and that people sometimes need to withdraw from a retreat booking. However, it is also important that people on the waiting list are given a reasonable amount of time to accept a cancellation space.

We therefore require that you have paid in full by Wednesday 13th SEPTEMBER 2016. If your balance is not paid by this date and you have not contacted us, your place on the retreat may be offered to someone else.

Cancellation fees apply as follows:

a)  Cancellation at any stage means loss of deposit ($100)

b)  There are no refunds or discounts for early departure from the retreat, or late commencement.

Please arrange work and personal commitments so that you can stay on the retreat grounds for the full duration of the retreat. This preserves the focus and intention of the retreat and minimizes distractions to your own silent practice and the practice of others. Please note that mobile phones should not be used, and it would be appreciated if computers are left at home.
