Chippenham Food Bank Thanks for all your contributions which were much appreciated. New contributions always welcome … just place your foodstuff donations in the orange crate in the Narthex for our weekly (Friday) delivery. Tins of fruit & long life milk would be welcome this week.

New microphones needed Fundraising for this is in hand by way of appealing to the congregation to fill the tub-canisters at the back of the Church; about a dozen have already come in. Take a canister (which accepts one and two pound coins), fill it and return it to Church (Chris Gough, or collection plate). Thanks.

Free Community Lunches. This is very much a “feeler” to see how much interest and support there may be for such an idea. Susan Tingey has received some backing, but would love to hear from anyone who might be interested in helping her make this happen. Ring Susan (247336) if you would like to discuss any aspect of the venture. First lunch will be Sunday 22nd April at 12 noon – a free, simple, community lunch in the Meeting Room. Family-friendly. Supported by Sainsbury’s “Waste Less Save More” campaign.

Church and the Environment This is a day conference in Southville, Bristol on Sat 14th April. Details and programme and how to book are on the Notice board.

Quiz & Ploughman’s. Thanks to all who supported this event. A sum of £384 was raised for Church funds.

Send-a-Cow Please bring your home collection boxes in over the next couple of weeks, or contact me for collection. Thank you. Sue Moring : 443746.

Rt, Revd Lee Rayfield, Bishop of Swindon has released the following statement, which was read out at the end of our 9.30 am All Age Service last week by the Revd Wiz Slater, Diocesan HR Dept. with responsibility for curacies:

“Following difficulties in relationships, those with responsibility for overseeing Lynne Godfrey’s training agreed that she should be seconded to Marshfield. I am writing to let you know that Lynne’s secondment is being extended for a further three months. This is to allow continuing discussions to take place with all those involved and to find the best resolution possible for the situation.

I appreciate this will be difficult news to receive and you are very much in our prayers. Please would you pray for a wide and appropriate outcome to be reached for all concerned.

Yours in our Rock and our Redeemer: +Lee Rayfield.”

Cornerstone Many of you may have been wondering why Cornerstone has gone quiet of late. The problem has been that our applications for grants have not been sufficiently successful. This has forced the PCC to reconsider our position, and the result of discussions at the PCC is that the whole project has been broken down into its constituents to see what may be rescued. A report is being prepared for the congregation, and more information will be available at the AGM on 15th April.

Annual General Meeting will be on Sunday 15th April at 10.45 am following the usual All Age Worship service. At this meeting we will need to elect 2 Church Wardens (Caroline is stepping down after a five year stint), and five ordinary members of the PCC (3 have come to the end of their 3-year term: Jane, Bev and Ivan). Please consider who you would like to see in these positions and be prepared to approach them and propose them formally – lists for names are on the Notice board. Also at the meeting all the annual reports of our sub-committees and groups will be available for consideration and questions: this is the time to ask anything you like about St. Peter’s.

Connect A new hub for young people aged between 8 and 12 across the Chippenham Deanery. There is a weekend of fun and faith at a camp in the Forest of Dean 22nd/24th June. Details on Noticeboard, or talk to Vivienne Fuller or Revd Adam Beaumont email , tel 01249 730984.
