Summer Program Guidelines
Welcome to Green Meadows Farm. I am looking forward to spending time with your child this summer. Your child’s comfort and safety is important to all of us at the farm. Here are a few guidelines to ensure that you and your child are prepared to have a wonderful experience hear at the farm.
- Farm School is held in all kinds of weather, so please dress appropriately. In case of heavy rains or storms we will hold the program in the Farmstand greenhouse.
- Closed toed shoes are required. Boots are great if it is damp out. We will be walking in fields and about the farm quite a bit. Closed toed shoes make everyone comfortable and safe.
- Children should wear sunscreen and/or bug repellant. Please apply this before the programs begins.
- Please have your child use the restroom before the program begins. We will be having so much fun and I don’t want them to miss anything!
- Green Meadows is a farm and is open to the public, therefore the areas we use MAYNOT befree from food and animal allergens. These include but are not limited to: tree nuts, latex, dogs, farm animals, soy, milk, etc….
- For the 1-hour 3-5 year old program:
- Please reserve snacks and sugary drinks for before or after the program. It is very hard for little ones to dig in the dirt, feed a chicken or search for insects while they are trying to eat goldfish crackers. Sugary drinks attract wasps which can make children uneasy.
- Awater bottle is a good idea to keep your little one refreshed.
- Parents are welcome to stay and participate in the program this makes most young children feel more secure.
- To make it convenient for parents, younger siblings (i.e. babies, toddlers) may tag along but understand that we will only have supplies for registered children.
- Please note that strollers can be difficult to navigate in some areas of the farm.
- For the 2.5 hour 5-8 and 8-11 year old program:
- Please have your child bring a water bottle with their name on it and a light snack.
- This is a drop off program. Children attending should feel comfortable participating independently without their parent present.
Thank you for your attention to these guidelines. I’m sure together we can create an environment that will lead to a memorable experience for your child.
