As indicated by my resume, I have received my Master’s degree in Education from Hofstra University, and I am certified to teach Business and Marketing in New York State.Currently, I am in the process of earning an additional certification in the area of Mathematics with a concentration in Students with Disabilities at the secondary level. I anticipate holding this certification by the beginning of the 2011-2012 school year at the latest. At the present time, I am employed as a Computer Lab Instructor and Substitute Teacher for the Levittown School District.

You will see from the enclosed resume that teaching is a second career for me. While working as an Account Executive for HSBC, I had the unique opportunity to volunteer with their Junior Achievement Program. This was an eye opening experience for me as I realized that I had the ability to inspire and empower those students with the skills necessary to spark their interest in careers of the business world. So, after much thought and consideration, I made the decision to leave my successful business career to return to school to pursue my teaching degree. The teaching experience which I have already obtained during my graduate studies as a one-to-one special education aide, and presently as a technology teacher assistant and substitute teacher of all subjects and grade levels only confirms that I made the right career choice for myself.

To be an effective teacher, one must combine experience, skill and enthusiasm with a genuine interest in teaching. I bring to the classroom all of these qualities combined with a background in business and the experience I have gained through my four years of working in educational facilities. This has allowed me to demonstrate practical applications of the required material and generate student interest in the learning process. Additionally, I am well versed on the most current applications and technology used in education, as well as the business world today. I am confident in my ability to prepare the students of your district with the tools they will need for success as they embark upon whichever path in life they choose.

Getting my first year as a full-time educator started is of the upmost importance to my life at this time and I am eager to begin my career.
