GWL,
STANTEC / 13.5 / Hydro:
2-5-07 Update: BG met last week with Lisa Martin: documents well underway for submittal to Wetlands Review Board, to be submitted soon. Hoping for permit in time for very narrow window for construction when water is lowest (June/July).
GWL / 17.9 / Appliances: See previous notes
GWL / 17.10 / HV Registers: See previous notes
1-26-07 Update:
Selection needed on some exterior vent covers – particularly battery box vent and kitchen hood. Mike Green to assist (see prev. notes); or team will design a wood box with sloped metal cap to match roofing?
GWL / 19.2 / Towel Radiators in bathrooms: See previous notes
24.6 / Wood waiter
2-5-07 Update: review shop drawings with Eric Nilsen, approved design #143; BCI to order.
BA, FOAM-TECH / 31.6 / Water Storage Tank:
1-26-07 Update:
SW to pursue added insulation with Henri Fennell
BCI / 32.3 / Downstairs Bedroom Closets: construct interior closet partitions from 5/4 t&g stock applied vertically; to save space. A good place to show off another GWL product; species TBD
BCI / 33.2 / NFRC labels and FSC certificate from Loewen now on site, CC will apply labels
BCI / 33.4 / Gyp-crete at radiant floor: sub-contract CO approved. Per Maxxon installer: 1-1/2” minimum thickness (dwgs show 1-1/4”). Installation to be coordinated with plumbing / elec trades; plumbing must be complete prior to installation. April appears likely date for Maxxon.
NOTE: submittal received/approved/processed post-meeting; polyiso included in subm.
BCI / 33.5 / Mechanical sub selected: Advanced Heating Technologies from Sharon, VT.
2-5-07 Update: BCI met with AHT last week; BCI furnished AHT with current documents; final price expected this week
BCI / 33.8 / Waste Management Review: ongoing process being monitored by CC; recycled materials & non-recyclables logged.
33.9 / IAQ: stone cutting for masonry heater to be contained in future Master Bath – partitions to be sealed off with poly enclosure and fan in window.
2-5-07 Update: protection in place.
BCI / 33.10 / Cellar stud wall between masonry heater base and mechanical room to be installed and insulated per plans.
ALL / 33.11 / BG notes concern on basement temps during cold weather; all agree, discussion follows (see previous notes)
2-5-07 Update: temps at battery/inverter room: 31ºF. NOTE: inverters will generate some heat.
New Business
BCI / 34.1 / Security Shutter Hardware: review Richards-Wilcox submittal. After research into embodied energy question of stainless vs. galvanized, no clear-cut winner emerged and galvanized selected (very significant cost). Black finish.
BCI to order, fasteners per mfrs instructions.
BA / Question remains about locking device, BA to inquire.
34.2 / Garage doors: review Jeremiah’s revised details: include added insulation and steel tube frame to prevent wracking (per Henri Fennel suggestion), air-tightness being major concern. SW notes doors under 6’ overhang, north side, will not be affected by sun/rain, this is best protection against warping.
BA, BCI / Closure: all discuss option of proposed R-W top & bottom bolts vs truck door type; what’s needed is some device to bring together the mid-section of the doors at astragal. BA to inquire.
BA / JG to coordinate stl frame with proposed hardware.
BCI / 34.3 / PV/Gro-Solar: Installation of batteries & inverters complete; grounds & tie-in to little barn remain to be installed by Brian Weeks.
BCI will break out solar costs from house for clear understanding of PV system costs.
BCI / 34.4 / Ridge cap: need to button up ASAP, if Stone Horse cannot furnish right away take temporary precautions.
34.5 / Next meeting: Monday AM, Feb 12.
