Protected Reading 8:00 – 9:30 / No School / Teacher Workday / PBL – Digital Textbook vs. Paper Textbook – TSW read and analyze an article and an online discussion about the differences in digital vs. print textbooks. TSW write an opinion piece stating whether they would rather have digital or print books. TSW also include why they feel that one is better than the other. / Common Core Coach Book Lesson 1 – Reading Short Stories – We will discuss in depth the process of reading a short story. We will read “A Snare for Srayosi” and discuss anchor standards as we read. This will include a shared reading, partner reading, and individual reading.

Common Core Coach – Writing an Opinion Piece Lesson 12 – We will continue working our way through this chapter on Opinion Pieces – We will discuss key details of an opinion piece as well as view samples of opinion pieces. We will begin discussing the writing process of an opinion piece.
