Purpose / This unit standard is for people who are currently working in jobs which require the inspection, handling, packaging, and labelling of product in a manufacturing environment.

2Definition
Worksite procedures – documents that include: worksite rules, codes, and practices; equipment operating instructions; documented quality management systems; and health and safety requirements.
3Assessment information
–All work practices must meet recognised codes of practice and documented worksite safety procedures (where these exceed the codes) for personal, product, and worksite safety), andmust also meet the obligations required under current legislation.
–Competence is to be demonstrated on three occasions of inspecting, handling, packaging, and labelling product.
4Range
Machine and ancillary equipment may include but is not limited to – collating machines, shrink wrapper, labelling machines, pallet wrappers.
Outcomes and evidence requirements
Outcome 1
Perform process operations in a manufacturing environment.
Evidence requirements
1.1Machine and equipment safety devices and personal protective equipment are used in accordance with job requirements and worksite procedures.
1.2Product is inspected to confirm production specifications are met in accordance with worksite procedures.
1.3Non-conforming product is sorted and processed in accordance with worksite procedures.
Rangemay include but is not limited to – placed on hold, reworked, disposed of.
1.4Conforming product is handled, packaged, and labelled in accordance with worksite procedures.
1.5Recording and/or reporting is carried out in accordance with worksite procedures.
Rangemay include but is not limited to – hard copy and/or electronic recording and/or reporting.
1.6Product, production, and equipment terminology is used in accordance with worksite procedures.
