Product Specifications

4016 DSD 300HIGH PRESSURE WATER JETTING ENCLOSED UNIT

1.GENERAL

1.1It is the intent of these specifications to describe the minimum requirements for a high pressure hydraulic sewer cleaner designed to use high velocity water jets in storm, sanitary and combined sewers, pipe drains and other conduits to remove obstructions, sand, solidified grease, roots and other materials. The unit, including all necessary equipment, shall be complete and ready for use. All parts not specifically mentioned which form part of the complete unit shall conform in design, strength and quality of material and workmanship to the highest standards of engineering practice.

1.2The high-pressure sewer-cleaning unit shall be the manufacturer’s standard as may be modified to meet the specifications. It shall be equipped with the manufacturer’s equipment and accessories which are in the advertisement and published literature for the unit.

2.PUMP

2.1The pump shall be of own manufacture and a radial piston diaphragm design, eliminating packings and piston seals. The pump shall be capable of continuous operation at maximum designed pressure and must be capable of running dry continuously at full speed without damage and without recirculating water in the crankcase or using shutdown devices. The pump shall be capable of producing 4,000 psi with a flow up to 16 gpm. Crankshaft speed on the pump shall not be less than 1,000 rpm.

2.2All moving parts shall be contained in an oil bath crankcase and at no time shall any of the moving parts, except valves, come in contact with water.

2.3Pump crankcase shall contain eight (8) stainless steel barrels. Each barrel shall contain a tubular nitrile diaphragm, inlet valve and delivery valve.

2.4Pump shall be direct driven using flexible couplings. Use of belt drives will not be acceptable.

2.5The high-pressure pump shall have a two year limited warranty or 2500 hours (whichever comes first) against components which fail due to defects in workmanship or material. See attached warranty policy for details.

3.WATER TANK

3.1The unit shall contain one rotationally molded polyethylene water tank, the capacity of which shall be no more than 300 gallons with a maximum operating time of 22 minutes.

3.2The water tank shall be mounted on a support assembly specifically designed for this purpose.

3.3An overhead type tank filling assembly with a 2” fire hydrant fitting shall be located on the curbside. An adaptor to convert from 2” hydrant fitting to ¾” garden hose shall also be supplied. A positive air gap anti-siphon system shall be incorporated to protect the potable water supply.

3.4The tank shall contain a 2” spherical valve to enable easy gravity draining of water.

3.5The tank shall be vented and shall have a removable lid to permit inspection and access into the tank.

4.SKID FRAME

4.1The unit shall be comprised of skid frames made from sectional steel tubing.

4.2The skid frames shall be suitable for placement in the back of a pick up or van, or on a flatbed truck.

5.CONTROLS

5.1All gauges, switches, levers, etc., necessary for the operation of the unit shall be on the curb side of the unit adjacent to the hose reel so that the operator has complete control of the cleaning operation while working from one location.

5.2The following instruments and controls shall be included as standard:

i.Keyed engine ignition switch, charging light, oil pressure light and throttle

ii.Pressure gauge for water system

iii.Engine hour meter

iv.Sight gauge showing diesel level in fuel tank

v.High pressure/recycle selector control valve

vi.Lever for controlling the speed and direction of the hose reel when moved
backwards or forwards from a central position

6.HOSE REEL

6.1The hose reel shall be designed to withstand maximum working pressure without distortion.

6.2Capacity of the hose reel shall not be less than 600 ft. of ½” high-pressure plastic hose.

6.3The outside diameter of the drum shall not exceed 23”.

6.4The reel shall be driven by hydraulic power in both directions. The hydraulic drive shall have sufficient power to retract the hose when fully extended into the sewer with the sewer cleaning jet in operation.

7.HOSE REEL DRIVE SYSTEM

7.1The hydraulic power for powering the hose reel shall be by means of a pump directly driven from the auxiliary engine; hydraulic motor with direct drive to the hose reel; an oil reservoir; a direction and speed control valve and hydraulic hose rated to withstand the maximum system pressure.

7.2The oil filter shall be the return type and have a replaceable cartridge.

7.3The oil reservoir tank shall have a capacity of at least 8.0 gallons.

8.SEWER CLEANING HOSE

8.1The hose shall have a minimal I.D. of ½”, and minimum burst pressure of 10,000 psi.

8.2The unit shall be equipped with a 500 ft. continuous length of reinforced plastic hose.

9.PIPING

9.1All piping subjected to high pressure shall have a minimum burst pressure of 14,000 psi.

9.2A filter of the in-line type with an 80-mesh screen shall be installed in the suction line at a location permitting easy accessibility for cleaning.

10.ENGINE – AUXILIARY

10.1The engine shall be a three cylinder, oil cooled, Deutz F3L2011 diesel industrial type having a minimum capacity of 142 cubic inches.

10.2The following accessories shall be furnished:

i.12 volt keyed ignition system with battery charging alternator and charging light

ii.Cable variable speed control throttle
