3rd International Mail Art Biennial

Theme: "FIRE – FEUER – FEU"

April 27 to May 30, 2002

Invitation

Having conducted two successful International Mail Art Biennials dealing with the themes of salt ("SALZ – SALT – SEL") and water ("WATER – WASSER – L’EAU"), the Bad Salzdetfurth Art Association (Kunstverein Bad Salzdetfurth) is now inviting artists from all over the world to participate in its third International Mail Art Biennial which will be conducted under the title of "FIRE – FEUER – FEU".

The works to be exhibited can deal with fire of any kind and nature and in any form – from fire in its concrete form via the fire of love to machine-gun fire.

The works have to be submitted in

A4 size (210 x 297 mm, vertical format).

(Works of plastic art complying with the above measures are also accepted.)

Any technique is permissible. The contributions to the exhibition must be sent to us via the medium "letter, postage prepaid".

The invitation is made worldwide in accordance with the usual mail art terms.

We are planning to present the exhibition also in other places.

After the exhibition, all works received will be kept in the archives of the Bad Salzdetfurth Art Association.

Each participating artist will receive a poster displaying the names of all the participants.

The framework of the exhibition is the general theme of "life", where first of all the four original elements shall be addressed as central themes.
