DURACOTE CORP. ANNOUNCES ACQUISITION BY DIRK DESANZO STOCK TRUST
Ravenna, Ohio (February, 2006)—Dirk Desanzo Stock Trust has purchased the Duracote Corporation, a laminator and coater of textile fabrics which services a variety of industries from aircraft to automotive to marine and more. Duracote laminates and coats a range of textiles and custom products to specification for awnings, air duct covers, window shades, sun roofs, tents and more plus materials for applications requiring noise, sound and static control. These products also meet flame retardant specifications.
Founded in 1947, Duracote was soon established as a coater of fabrics for ventilation ducts used in underground mines and a PVC-laminator and coater of cloth for military aircraft as well as aircraft floor coverings.
Located in Ravenna, Ohio at 350 N. Diamond Street, Duracote sits on more than twelve acres of land housing their administrative offices, warehouse, manufacturing and laboratory facilities. Duracote’s lab accommodates the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Radiant Panel Flame Chamber which allows Duracote to test and certify materials to the FAA flame propagation specifications effective in September of 2005.
Along with other companies, Dirk Desanzo Stock Trust also owns Kent Adhesive Products Company (KAPCO®)--a Kent, Ohio, manufacturer/coater of pressure-sensitive flexible materials and supplier of digital media and laminates plus graphic sign vinyls and supplies.
Ed Small, President of KAPCO since 2000, will also serve as President of Duracote. “I am anxious to meet and work with Duracote’s customers.
