Role Summary

This role will spearhead the design requirements for the entire Club. Working closely with the Marketing department as well as other stakeholders across the Club, this role will be responsible for delivering exceptional quality design work that supports the Club to deliver its strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1.  Management
§  Manage the Design team
§  Stakeholder management (interpreting briefs and influencing design requirements early in the creative process)
§  Develop regular 'creative reviews' to showcase, benchmark and identify new design opportunities
§  Identify and build agency relationships to utilise if required
§  Ensure the creative process operates in an efficient and cost-effective manner
§  Direct the creative output so that the team, workflow, design, artwork, presentation and commercial awareness support the strategic goals of Everton.
§  Work across departments to translate requirements into strategic concepts, messages and rationale.
§  Continual improvement in processes - plan, do, review
§  Work side by side with the Marketing team to support the wider planning process as well as day to day resource planning requirements includingmanaging holidays, matchdays and delivery against agreed deadlines.
§  Taking complete ownership of the visual elements of the Club’s brand.
2.  Design Standards
§  Quality control - no compromise on quality - award winning standards
§  Provide vital design resource and expertise across multiple channels, including digital, social and CRM
§  Collaborate and contribute to the creative process and play a key role as a member of the Marketing Team
§  Ensure that creative output meets deadlines without compromising quality.
3.  Strategic and Tactical Delivery
·  Deliver creative solutions that help Everton attain their marketing and communication objectives.
·  Write and present cohesive and persuasive rationales for campaign approaches.
·  Assist in the translation of creative concepts to digital platforms.
·  Deliver high quality print-ready and web-ready artwork based on existing or new material
·  Work collaboratively with department representatives and make recommendations for changes to the creative process to support strategic plans.
4.  Brand Lead
§  Lead on the Everton identity and how it is interpreted, used and reflected across all sites and assets, from artwork to lounges, training ground, 3rd parties etc. Live and breathe the brand and how it used, in particular on match days
§  Understand Everton’s strategic goals and analyse the creative team, environment, processes, technology etc. to determine areas needing improvement and build and direct a creative function aligned with those goals.
5.  Other Responsibilities
§  Take responsibility for personal performance and the development of personal skills to ensure the required skills, knowledge and competence to fulfil the role.
§  Encourage and promote the values of Everton Football Club and to comply with the required standards of conduct and so promote the Club within the community by acting with integrity and honesty.
