Thank you for your interest in spring 2016 purchase of Package bees. Packages will be available only on specified dates in March and mid April.
Packages will include bees, a young mated queen, and feeder can in a standard screen cage ready to carry to your home or bee yard. Queens are not marked. Queens will be Italian unless otherwise specified. Should you require other queens, you may ask or just supply your own. The very gentle yellow Italians will be available for the 4/11 pickup date. These queens rate very high in hygienic tests.
The 2# packages will be available March 12 and should only be ordered for installation with drawn brood frames or where a donation of frames with brood from an existing hive is an option.
A 3# package is necessary for starting a hive with foundation (no drawn comb). These will be available on 4/16.
The bees will be healthy, having been treated for mites and any other necessary problems. Small Hive Beetles are now throughout GA. The strategy is to provide bees free of beetles, but this is no longer to be expected. The next best thing is for you to understand and control the beetle as possible. All prices are picked up in Ball Ground, Georgia.
Production dates are projected and are subject to queen availability, weather, and other circumstances.
Due to current problems in the bee industry, all prices are subject to a February 1, 2016 review.

Extra queens will be available in April. March queens are limited to packages and emergency situations.
5-frame Nucs – A limited quantity may be available for pickup in May. Cost: $135. Fill out form and mail with a deposit of $20.00 for each nuc.

All bees are to be picked up in Ball Ground. No bees are being shipped.
Picking up at any location other than Ball Ground must be requested and approved when ordering.
Packages are guaranteed to have a healthy, live queen & bees at pickup. Installation and growth of the package is the responsibility of the purchaser. Should you have a queen problem, call immediately. If the package is already installed, place the cage with the dead queen inside the hives cluster.
If you need supplies, my prices for wood supplies usually save you money unless you are ordering in large quantities. I am working a frantic schedule so leave a message. Most of my phone work will be early a.m. or late p.m. The local bee clubs will be offering beekeeping classes to improve skills. I will gladly help you get involved with these local programs. Our Cherokee Bee Club has a one-day Beginning Beeschool planned for February. There will also be a Saturday “hands-on-in-the-bees” field trip in mid-March.
