H&H Group Holdings, Inc. is pleased to announce that we have won the 2013 Dane County Small Business Award. The Award is limited to ten businesses each year. Bill Howe, President of H&H Group Holdings, says “What a surprise and honor to be selected for the Award. Our Company has grown and broadened its product offerings over the last three years to make us stronger for the future.” H&H divisions include: H&H Energy Management Services, H&H Electric Company, H&H Plumbing Services, H&H Solar Energy Services, and H&H Wind Energy, as well as H&H Fire and Security. Starting as Hyland Hall in 1901, H&H has steadily grown into one of the largest electrical and solar contractors in Wisconsin. “If you ask me why our company is so successful, I would have to say it is the dedicated employees who strive to do not just a good job but a great job every time.” says Howe.

Below are some of the criteria H&H Group Holdings was selected by:

  • A successful for-profit company at least three (3) years old.
  • Have a minimum of three (3) full-time equivalent employees.
  • Maintain a rewarding workplace environment.
  • Give back to your community through volunteerism, contributions or in-kind services.

Over the last two years H&H has grown from an Electric and Solar Energy Services company to providing Plumbing Services, Energy Management, Fire and Security and Wind Energy Services as well. This growth has added thirty new employees and lead to the purchase of a new building. Because H&H believes in energy efficiency and renewable energy we made some improvements to the building which include: energy efficient HVAC system (top of the line Aaon variable air volume (VAV) units); solar electric used to generate approximately 12,100 kilowatt hours per year; solar thermal which produces 80-120 gallons of hot water every four hours and supplies all of the hot water needs for the building; state-of the-art LED lighting and

lighting controls which are web based and reduce the lighting energy use by 75%; Fike Alarm System which cuts alarm response time between manual pull station and strobe activation; building envelope improvements including insulation and air sealing; IT software that controls shutdown based on non-usage and provides printer and paper savings; Elkay Water Cooler and bottle filling station which counts the quantity of bottles saved from the landfill as the bottle filling station is used; Dyson Airblade™ Hand Dryer which uses up to 80% less energy than warm air hand dryers and creates less waste that ends up in landfills. We plan to use our building as a “learning lab” for others interested in moving to a sustainable building model.

H&H’s mission is to offer quality and competitive solutions, while maintaining core values: safety, integrity, and teamwork. We currently employ over 150 people both in the office and the field. H&H Group Holdings strives to provide a one-stop shop for all of our valued customers. For more information about our Company, please visit
