Student Activities Manager

£23,500 starting salary

3% salary increase upon successful completion of contractual probationary period

Pension, 30 days annual leave + public holidays

The Post

The post-holder will take the Managerial lead to develop the activitieselements of the Union’s Student Opportunities function with a specific focus on the deliveryofactivities strategies to drive student engagement. The post holder will be expected to manage and control the budgets for all areas of activities and will serve as an advisor for the Unionin the fields of student activities. The postholder will be line manager to the assigned staffand will manage the operations of the Union’s student activities (media, societies and sport). They will also develop systems that ensure quality, high levels of effective operation andstudent satisfaction. The post holder will endeavour to continually increase the number ofstudents participating in our activities and will foster a culture of participation and personaldevelopment.

The Person

The post-holder will have significant and substantial managerial experience, as well as experience in planning, managing budgets and financial control. The post-holder will have experience of setting staff targets and developing processes and systems to support the delivery of the student services. In addition, the post-holder will have excellent communication skills, an understanding of best practice in supporting volunteers and have the ability to handle competing priorities. The post-holder should have an interest in student engagement and student activities and experience of delivering and developing services in a busy, customer/student focussed environment.
