Englewood, CO (August 3, 2015) – Sports Authority, one of the largest full-line sporting goods retailers in the United States and Puerto Rico, announced today that it will host a grand opening event for its new store in Thousand Oaks, CA at Janss Marketplace, 145 W. Hillcrest Dr. #130. Doors open Saturday, August 8 at 8am.

This store has everything customers need to get active, including the latest from top brands like Nike, Under Armour, adidas, The North Face and more.With outstanding selection, value and service, Sports Authority is dedicated to providing its customers with an unbeatable shopping experience.

Grand opening weekend events and promotions include:

Saturday only

  • Starting at 8am, the first 100 customers in line will receive a $20Instant Sports Authority Cash Card. The 101st–200th customers in line will receive a $10 cash card.
  • Former Los Angeles Dodgers Infielder Steve Garvey will be making an appearance from1–2:30pm.

Saturday and Sunday

  • Customers can register for a chance to win a $500 shopping spree.

Sunday only

  • The first 200 customers to spend $15 or more will receive a free camp chair.

Customers are also invited to join The League, Sports Authority’s member program, which gives members a point for every dollar spent. Within a quarterly period, members who earn 100 points or more will receive 5% back on all in-store and online purchases.
