“Words: The Human Chain”

The human tongue holds immense power
It eloquently flows words like a swaying flower
Forever it engraves itself into the human mind like a piercing glower
Capable of making even the most composed human to turn sour
Seeking the truth yet hoping for words sprinkled with sweet, sweet powder
Feelings of anguish and pain seethe itself through the long hour
Frustration and anger can only make one louder
An endless, aimless, and pointless howler
A child tightly covers their ears while dreaming of a peaceful bower
One’s regret can only build taller than a tower
Oh how words can make a human cower
Each word bearing heavier than the last
Following one through the future, present, and past
Tying each limb down to the very last
The puppeteer would shriek joyously with such marvelous cast
The world after all is but a theatre so vast
Full of puppets and marionettes made up of fine bast
Forever entrapped within the facades of endless ploys

Never to be freed from the faceless toys
