September is Dedicated to the Seven Sorrows of Mary

The Seven Sorrows are events in the life of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is a common devotion for to say daily one Our Father and seven Hail Mary’s for each.

Updated!!! Second Collections

There will be a second collection on behalf of the Apostleship of the Sea today during this Sea Sunday, we express our gratitude to all those who work in the maritime industry, with a trusting heart we ask Mary, Star of the Sea to guide, enlighten and protect the sailing of the whole people of the sea and support the members of the Apostleship of the Sea in their pastoral ministry.

Next week 5th October a second collection will be held for sick priests – please give generously.

Sacramental preparation

Preparations for First Confession, First communion and Confirmation will start on or after the 28th September. This is for children who do not attend Catholic schools in Aberdeen. Please speak to Sinead, Jo Martin or Fr. Gabor, if your child needs to be prepared! Thank you!

Healing Service at St Columba’s Church

To be held on Thursday 2nd October commencing with Mass at 7 pm. There will also be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, accompanied by The Rosary, Music and Prayer Ministry all welcome.

We are pleased to say that soil testing has been carried out by the Engineers and the results are not very good, so there will be a meeting on the 2nd October to discuss what other options we have!!!

Inviting people from the streets to light a candle for their loved ones. A gentle way of reaching out to those who have not been to church or have left the church. We can bring in ca. 70 people within just 1.5 hour. Help is needed for inviting people! Join us on the 11th October at 7.15pm.
