5Definitions

Aviation organisation refers to a public, private or community enterprise, association or group operating in the aviation environment.

Establishing the context refers to defining the external and internal parameters to be taken into account when managing risk, and setting the scope and risk criteria for risk management policy or process.

Organisational policies refer to the statement of agreed intent that sets out an organisation’s views or principles with respect to a particular matter.

Organisational procedures refer to the step-by-step instructions for implementing or carrying out an organisation’s policy or desired objective.

Stakeholders refer to persons or organisations that can affect, be affected by, or perceive themselves to be affected by a decision, activity or change.

2.1The objectives of the aviation organisation are identified or defined in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.

2.2The internal context of the aviation organisation is defined and described in accordance with organisational policies and procedures, and industry texts.

2.3The context of the risk management process in the aviation organisation is defined and described in accordance with organisational policies and procedures, and industry texts.

2.4The depth of analysis to be applied in the risk management process is identified, explained, and justified in accordance with industry texts.

2.5Any assumptions or limitations in the process are identified and explained in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.
