REPORT

The aim of the Recreation Capital Grant is to support projects that focus on maintaining and conserving the community’s assets and provide opportunities for a broader cross section of the community to be involved in recreational activities.

Eligible applicants must be an incorporated not for profit organisation and be physically located within the Alexandrina Council district. A total amount of $50,000 has been allocated to this program for the 2009/2010 financial year.

Council endeavours to support as many applicants as possible within its budget determination. Groups or organisations successful in previous years may not necessarily receive funding in future rounds, thus allowing all groups and organisations to apply for and receive funding. Those groups or organisations who did not receive any funding were deemed to be ineligible as they did not meet the essential criteria detailed in the grant program

Seven applications were received totalling $148,076

Members of Council’s selection panel met on Thursday 1st October to assess the applications and determine the allocation of funds. Following due consideration it was recommended that the four applicants identified below share an allocation of funds totalling $50,000.
