ESPRIT DE BULLET hasn’t been missed by the handicapper with 60.5k. The 8yo put in a career high rating @ Valley 2nd up when too slick for Vatican over 1000m. May not improve on this effort today but may not have to. Jason Holder onboard for the John Hyam stable. Drawn well in 1.
ADDICTION TO ROCK won after a 7 wk let-up back in Feb over this track and trip and today resumes from an identical let-up. Will Clarken has recognized this and has engaged Todd Pannel for today’s event replacing Joe Bowditch. This is neither a positive nor a negative. Nice odds early
PETMAN can improve sharply 2nd up especially after a failure first-up. The fact that there has been a 5wk break between runs is a little concerning but it may not be insurmountable. Troy Baker has the mount & he’s won 6 times from 13 rides. May reach our required odds & don’t leave him out
MESSENE is not far away on the 3rd line @ $7.40. The Hawkes trained Lonhro 5yo resumes from a 32 week spell so he will have to have his wits about him to win this fresh. Finished 4.4 lens last @ Valley 1st up back in Feb.13 after striking trouble @ start. Nice 2nd in a recent barrier trial.
