CCAT is seeking a part-time assistant for the Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMC).

Position Title:Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMC) Assistant

Job Description:The AMC Assistant reports to the Director, Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMC) and will support the AMC staff in their mission to improve the competitiveness of U.S. manufacturers.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Specifically tasks to support new & on-going projects in the AMC related to precision manufacturing and additive manufacturing (3D printing of metals & plastics). The AMC Assistant will have exposure to all functions and receive cross-training.

Job Qualifications:

  • Education:Candidates should have completed a high school technical program, or have worked towards earning an AS or BS degree in Manufacturing or similar
  • Experience:Proficiency with CAD solid models using SolidWorks or Siemens NX. Experience in a machine shop environment; specifically milling, turning & measurement. Experience with CNC machine operation a plus. Experience with CNC programming using MasterCam or Siemens NX a plus. Engineering experience a plus.
  • Skills:Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Mastery of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) suite of software. Strong interpersonal skills. Good attention to detail. Must fulfill ITAR citizenship requirements.

Physical Demands & Work Environment: The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, manufacturing machinery, etc. Continually operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer and some manufacturing technology.The person in this position frequently communicates with individuals. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Occasionally moves equipment/materials of various weights for business and event needs. Occasionally travels to business-related sites with varying work conditions. Requires the ability to view and read computer screens and printed material.

Works in a lab/manufacturing environment and must maintain proper safety protocols. Work environment can be moderate to loud.
