2018 LCLL Extended Season Registration and Commitment Form

It is the philosophy and general intent of Lowes Creek Little League to provide additional baseball opportunities for our players after our league’s regular season. The league year generally ends in late June, and our league will encourage and promote players of similar ages to form teams to participate in extended season play, as well as other teams to play single games once our regular season concludes.

Lowes Creek is a member of Cal Ripken Baseball, a division of Babe Ruth International. We abide by its rules and regulations from an age level standpoint with our LCLL Extended Season Teams, but they are NOT eligible to participate in their District, State and National Cal Ripken tournament programs. These extended season teams will be formed with the main purposes of baseball development and player fun. We will facilitate teams from 8U - 12U, by organizing player registration and coach volunteers. However, there may be more interest in extended season baseball play at these age levels than roster spots allow per game, so we be creative to allow all players to play in some capacity. Lowes Creek will make every effort to provide a team for all players who are interested in playing additional baseball.

It is equally important that we have coaches to lead these additional teams in the continued development of our players. There may be additional costs for families depending on the number of events these teams participate in and for uniforms involved. LCLL will help cover most team costs.

Because of the commitment required to participate on the extended season teams, it is necessary to obtain the agreement of players and parents prior to the selection and announcement of any extended season team. If interested in participating in the Lowes Creek Extended Season program, please submit the completed form no later than June 1st, 2018 to LCLL Board Member Mark McCarthy (), or other LCLL Board Member or your league coach.

Generally, teams are formed by specific age groups. But 8U players are allow to tryout for the 9U team. If a 8U player is not selected for the 9U team, that player can play extended season at the 8U level. It is anticipated that we will form teams at the 9U level according to skill and development levels. The 9U teams will typically play kid pitch games. At the 8U level, we may look to balance the teams from a competitive standpoint. The 8U teams will typically play coach pitch games.

Coaches will have input on their team's selection, tryouts will be scheduled to determine the best fit for 8U - 12U players. Players could be asked to play at the older age levels depending on the amount of participants. Players will not play down an age level. The LCLL Board of Directors will untimately have the final say in all team rosters.

By completing this form, the player and his/her family agree to the following conditions of participation for either the Extended Season at every age level:

1) Player will make every effort to attend all practices and games.

2) Team assembly will start in mid-June, and practices may be held prior to the extended season starting in early July. The extended season generally starts after July 4th and ends in early August.

3) Participation fees may be required of parents, depending on the number of events each team chooses to participate in. Travel expenses are also borne by individual families.
