2018-2019 TOBY Call for Entries
The TOBY Award program is the most prestigious and comprehensive award program of its kind in the commercial real estate industry, recognizing quality in buildings and awarding excellence in building management and environmental stewardship.By competing in the competition you will show your tenants and others that you recognize the worth of your building andthe skills of your management team to your owner.
The TOBY Award recognizes all facets of a building’s operations, including tenant relations programs, community involvement, emergency preparedness, security standards, and continuing education for building personnel. Floor plans, site plans, and photographs are reviewed during the on-site judging process as this provides an extensive assessment of the building and team.
Your first step is to fill out the application and basic building information on pages 2, 3 & 4. Once completed please forward to the BOMA Columbus office via email at . Please note there is no cost to compete at the local level.
Forms are due to the BOMA Columbus office by June 30, 2018. Your building does not have to be ready for judging on June 30th. You will have several weeks to work with your team and the TOBY committee members to review and prepare for the judging process.
Your next step is to prepare for local judging that will take place beginning August2018. Your building must win on the local level to enter the regional competition. The region is defined as Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky and Ohio.
Your last step is if you win locally to enter the regional competition. This is an online application through the TOBY program administered by BOMA International. There is a fee of $50 for administration costs and $325 for the actual entry.
You are not required to enter the regional competition. The TOBY committee is available to assist you with your regional entry. The regional entry deadline is typically early March 2019. The exact dates will be announced later this year.
