2017 HOUSING AGREEMENT FOR SUMMER MUSIC SCHOOL

Accommodations are available to Duquesne University summer music school students. Duquesne University’s Living/Learning Centers are air-conditioned and provide convenient accommodations for your summer plans.

Reservations for summer music school housing should be made by visiting www.duq.edu/residence-life/summermusic schoolhousing. Reservations will not be made beyond August 4, 2017.

Summer music school housing agreements must be received no later than 5 days prior to arrival. If you should decide not to live on campus, you must notify the Assistant Director of Residence Life in writing at least one week prior to your specified arrival date. Refunds of housing payments will be less a $20.00 cancellation fee if cancelled one week prior to arrival date. There is limited availability for single rooms. There is no campus phone in your room and it is recommended that you bring a cell phone with you. You will receive your building and room assignment when you arrive on campus but please note that room key will not be issued unless payment is received one week prior to arrival.

There is one meal plan option (FULL MEAL PLAN) and once it has been selected it cannot be cancelled. However, the meal plan (board) can be added at any time. Please visit www.duq.campusdish.com for dining hours and locations.

HOUSING AGREEMENT FOR DUQUESNE UNIVERSITY

LIVING/LEARNING CENTERS

This Housing Agreement is made by and between Duquesne University and the Summer School Student whose signature appears at the end of this Housing Agreement.

The Student may not transfer his/her right to occupy a Residence Hall room to anyone else.

The University is not liable for the failure or interruption of utilities or for conditions resulting from failure or interruption of the same.

The Student Code of Rights, Responsibilities, and Conduct including all Office of Residence Life Rules and Regulations shall be conscientiously observed by the Student, by his/her guests and invitees for whose conduct the Student accepts responsibility. Failure to comply with these rules and regulations is grounds for termination of the summer housing agreement. The Student shall be responsible and pay for any damages caused by the Student or the Student’s guests or invitees to the living quarters, furnishings, or to any other area of the Living/Learning Center or its equipment. The Student shall be assessed and pay on a prorated basis for damages to his/her room, elevators, corridor, bathrooms, and lounges.

The University is not liable for property belonging to the Student which may be lost, stolen, or damaged in any way. This includes damages or losses that may occur anywhere in the residence area.

The University does not assume responsibility for medical care beyond that offered by the Student Health Services.

When deemed necessary by the University, authorized University personnel reserve the right to enter the Student’s room to inspect furniture and equipment, to make repairs, and for any other reasonable purpose.

The University reserves the right to change room or building assignments, to assign roommates, or to consolidate vacancies by requiring students to move from single occupancy of double rooms to double occupancy in any building throughout the summer.

The Student hereby agrees to pay the room fees and board fees as they have been announced or as they may be adjusted. The Student has read, understands, and agrees to abide by the terms and conditions of this Housing Agreement.
