2017 GOLF POLICIES

Golfers are referred to the RA Golf Website for current golf policies, tournament signup sheets, course directions, tournament winners, and related golf information.

•For 2017 the RA will host six tournaments: Rock Harbor, Reston National,Westfields, Luray,Pleasant ValleyandOld Hickory. The 2017tournament schedule will be posted on the website and emailed to as many prior tournament participants as possible. Everyone is encouraged to forward the FBIRA schedule to any other interested parties.

•All tournament tee times this season will be 8:30 A.M. Any changes will be noted on a tournaments sign-up sheet.

• Any team of 2, 3 or 4 golfers must have at least one current or retired FBI employee or contractor as part of the team. Singles willbe accommodated and team placed as available. Extra shots will not be afforded to teamswith less than 4 players.

•The FBIRA employs a handicap system that is designed to make these tournaments more competitive for all teams and to ensure that all teams have an opportunity at winning. Each golfer should honorably rate themselves based on their average score over the past year on one’s home course. The following table below should be used to determine a golfer’s handicap:

Golfer Rating / A / B / C / D / E
Average Score / < 80 / 80-89 / 90-99 / 100-109 / 110 +
Handicap Strokes / 0 / 1 / 2 / 3 / 4

The final team (net) score is the tournament (gross) score minus the team handicap. In case of a tie score at the end of a regulation round, a winner will be determined by reviewing team scores starting with the #1 handicap hole and if necessary, continuing forward to the next lowest handicap holes until the tie is broken. If this process yields no clear winner, then the team with the lower team handicap will be declared the winner. After that, a three shot sudden death putting contest from eight feet will be held between a golfer, as selected by the team captain, from each team.

**NOTE** The July 10 tournament at Westfields will be designated a Gross Score Tournament. No handicap system will be employed for this tournament.

•If available at a tournament course, senior men golfers (age 60+), who are rated “C” (90-99), “D” (100-109), or “E” (110+) may optionally play from the senior tees. If senior tees are not available, then all men shall play from the white tees or comparable designated tees. If a qualified player elects to play from the senior tees, every hole must be played from the senior tees and they are not eligible for the longest drive contest.

•All women may play from the ladies tees. If ladies senior tees are available then the same rules apply as stipulated for senior men.

•Each tournament will have trophies for the winning team, longest drive contest for men and woman, twoclosets to the pin contests, and a longest putt contest.

•To speed up pace of play the maximum score for any hole will be double bogey. Once a double bogey score is reached, kindly pick up and move to the next hole.

•It will be the responsibility of Team Captains to communicate with the scorers at the course to ensure that team handicaps are correct and final scores are posted accurately. The Commissioner, designated assistants and team captainswill assist the course scorer with this effort. Team captains should ensure that scores are marked with a number total for each hole. Please do not mark scores for holes using markings such as +, - , 0, etc. as a substitute for the score of a hole.
