2017 GENERAL RULES
1.All contestants must be bonafide 4-H for FFA members, at least 9 years of age the day of the show. All members are invited to participate. Youth participating in the youth show must be 6-8 years of age on show day.
2.Animals must be brought to the show grounds at the appointed date and time.
3.The responsibility for loss, damage, or injury to animals exhibited is the responsibility of the exhibitor until sold.
4.A contestant must exhibit his/her own animal in the show. However, if a contestant has more than one animal to show in a class, he/she may ask another registered exhibitor to show his/her animal, or otherwise the animal will be disqualified.
5.The show manager and executive committee will have the authority to disqualify any animal or contestant that is in violation of the rules and regulations or who in their opinion would be of danger to contestants or spectators.
6.Exhibitors are responsible for making sure animals are properly registered for the show before the deadline.
7.Each exhibitor may sell 1 animal per species and must designate that animal at weigh-in. Additional animals may be sold to the packer at market price.
8.Junior/Senior division for showmanship classes will be made by the age of the contestant on show day. Ages 9-13 will be placed in the junior division and ages 14 and up will compete in the senior division.
9.The Executive Committee reserves the right to not accept registrations from exhibitors who have not attended a pre-show exhibitor meeting.
10.Registrations will only be accepted from youth who completed an “Intent to Show” form. Each animal entry must be accompanied by a non-refundable per animal entry fee ($25/ animal if only shown once, $35/animal if shown twice) that is to be paid by the exhibitor. Entries must be received by their respective due dates. Entries received 1-10 days late will be assessed a $25 per animal late fee. If forms are received more than 10 days after deadline, the child and animal are ineligible to show.
11.All exhibitors will adhere to all other rules, regulations or guidelines set forth by the committee that may not be listed here.
2017 JUNIOR MARKET HOG AND BREEDING GILT SHOW RULES AND REGULATIONS
1.The market show will consist only of market hog classes (barrows and gilts). The breeding show will be for gilts only that have not farrowed.
2. All hogs will be graded by a representative of the Division of Markets upon arrival on the grounds.
3.Hogs should be US #1 and US #2 barrows and open gilts weighing between 260-290 pounds. Weights and grades out of this range can be shown but support price may be affected.
4.All hogs must be owned, on feed by February 19, and identified and penned separately. Entries will be judged by weight divisions regardless of breed.
5.All hogs must be nominated and registered with the Show Manager by February 28, 2017. No substitutions will be made after this date.
6.All hogs entered must be sold unless the show chairman receives notice beforeweigh-in.
7. All Champion and Reserve Champion hogs must be sold through the show sale.
8.Classes will be divided by weight and there will be no exceptions made and no re-weighs.
9.A maximum of 2 hogs may be entered by each contestant.
