Adjusted Dismissal Days Defined:
DistrictPLC (Elementary) - Five days have been designated for District PLC time. Two of the five days will include MAP training for teachers via a webinar format. Instructional coaches will serve as PLC facilitators for each school so teachers will not need to travel to a central location. Instructional coaches will collaborate with curriculum coordinators to design the learning for these days. ELL and Extended core teachers (Art, Music, PE, World Lang) will collaborate in a centralized location, led by curriculum coordinators. Because of this, schools CANNOT trade these days with another day. Some special education teachers (alternative assessment) will be pulled for PD. Teachers impacted by this will be contacted directly.
District PLC (Secondary) - Five days have been designated for District PLC time. Two of the five days will include MAP training for English and Math teachers via a webinar format. PLC facilitators will be identified and content-alike groups will meet in a centralized location. PLCs will meet from 1:45 to 3:10 on the designated days. Teachers from Schools for Rigor will participate in district PLCs.
District – SS (Safe Schools) - Two district-directed days have been set aside to allow teachers time to complete Safe Schools mandatory training.
School – In addition to the three full days of PD, schools will have 19 early release days for professional learning to support school improvement plan goals. Cultural Proficiency work will be integrated during this time.
Teacher – Teachers will have one full day (Educator University) + 12 early release days to work toward developing and implementing individual career plans, review student data to prepare for improved instruction to meet the needs of students, and other functions that will enhance professional planning, growth and preparation. Individual teachers will be expected to determine how they will maximize the use of time for professional growth purposes.
