Alongside the Team Leicestershire Cricket Competitions, Leicestershire Cricket is also again running their Fred Trueman/Chance 2 Compete Competitions this year:

  • U13 8-a-side Competition
  • U15 8-a-side Competition

These competitions are aimed at emerging schools and county age group players are not permitted to play in these competitions.

It is encouraged that schools enter the Team Leicestershire competitions (aimed at schools that have experience playing competitive cricket) or the Chance 2 Compete competitions (aimed at emerging schools new to playing competitive cricket) depending on the most suitable to the individual school..

Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket are running the Secondary Schools league cricket and Fred Truman/Chance to compete county tournaments.

As we did in 2015 Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket are to continue to run the Fred Trueman League at Under 13 and Under 15 level, only with a very similar format to last year. We are combining the Fred Trueman Competition with the Chance to compete Outdoor tournament, outlined below.

This Competition is open to all state schools.

The League itself will be run in local pools and teams will play against each other to determine a winner for each District.

  • Winners from each District will compete to find a County Champion.
  • The county champions will progress to the Chance to Compete regional finals.
  • The winner of the Regional Final will progress to the National Finals.

Interested Schools should complete the entry form by Friday March 18th.

The Girl’s outdoor competition is to be run as the U13 & U15 Chance to compete Outdoor super eights. This is an 8 a side tournament for school teams to enter with the county winner progressing to the Regional Finals.

This will be run as a one off County Finals tournament in the Summer termwith the venue and date yet to be confirmed.
