HOME SCHOOL SOUP DINNER DATE HAS CHANGED: The annual St. John School Soup Dinner has been moved from Sunday, October 23rd toSunday, October 30thdue to a scheduling conflict that involved many of our school families. SCHOOL PICTURES TOMORROW: School pictures will be taken here at school TOMORROW, Thursday, September 15th by Vculek Photography. An order form was sent home with your student(s) in case you would like to order copies of your child’s picture. PLEASE RETURN THE ORDER FORM NO LATER THAN 8 A.M. TOMORROW MORNING! Payment must accompany the order form AT THE TIME THEIR PICTURE IS TAKEN in order for the order to be processed. There are a variety of “package deals” to choose from. Purchase of the pictures is optional. DRESS CODE: Students may wear a nice shirt or blouse along with uniform shorts or slacks --- the girls may wear skirts or dresses. Students may wear their school uniform if they prefer. P.E. and recess will be held that day so keep that in mind if they wear their “Sunday best” it might be a good idea to send along a change of clothes and/or shoes (uniform dress code) for P.E. and recess.

ST. JOHN SCHOOL FALL GARAGE SALE: Thursday, September 29th 4-8 pm & Friday September 30th 9 am – 5 pm. Clean, useable donations can be brought in beginning Monday, September 26th. REQUIRED FORMS: We are still missing quite a few required forms for our school records…..Kindergarten parents --- just a reminder that we also need a copy of your child’s birth certificate, baptism certificate and updated immunization records on file as soon as possible. Pre-K parents --- we need a copy of your child’s birth certificate and immunization records; a copy of your child’s baptism certificate too if you have it.

EMAIL ADDRESSES: If there is a different (or additional) email address that you would like to receive emails from school, please let us know. Our weekly bulletins go out every Wednesday and are sent paperless via email. We are working on updating the “Calling Trees” for this school year. Once these are finalized to include our new families, we will send those out to you. Please be sure to have a phone number listed on the Calling Tree at which you can be reached most readily.

HOT LUNCH MONEY: You may send payment for your child’s “debit account” for their hot lunch money. As your child orders hot lunch, that will be deducted from their account. Checks should be made payable to Neumann High School for hot lunch. Families can again apply for free or reduced lunches. If you would like to, fill out the necessary forms and return the forms to Neumann. If you are enrolled in the “My School Bucks” website as a user, go to to check their balance or register as a new user. You can also call Neumann and Cindy Wenninghoff can check your balance for you.

GALA 2017 FUNDRAISER: Come join us for a Husker Tailgate Party! It will be held on Saturday, September 17th in the Saltdogs Stadium Lot before the Husker game vs. Oregon. Go Big Red!

ST. JOHN PARISH (WESTON) FALL BAZAAR: The annualChicken & Ham Dinner at St. John Nepomucene Church in Weston will be on Sunday, September 18th from11:00 am to 2:00 pmin the school gym. Adults (13 & over) $11.00; Youth (5-12) $5.00; Pre-school (4 & under) FREE. Take-outs are $12.00. There will also be a Silent Auction from11:00 am to 2:00 pm, Live Auction beginning at2:00 pm, Live Music by Mark Vyhlidal Orchestra from11:00 am to 2:00 pm, plus Children’s Games, Bake Sale, Bingo, Crafts, & Raffle.

PLASI SALAD LUNCHEON/SUPPER: The 30thannual Plasi Salad Luncheon/Supper will be held on Tuesday, September 20th – two seatings will be held: one at 11:30 a.m., one at 6:30 p.m. Tickets must be purchased in advance due to limited seating. The cost of each ticket is $6.00 --- Jackie Kastl and Marty Mach will again provide the entertainment! 1st ANNUAL “TASTE OF PARADISE”: Please join the Knights of Columbus Council #8625 for “A Taste of Paradise” on Sunday, September25th from 2-5pm. at 2760 Main Road, Valparaiso, NE (Luke & Alice Benes’s, ½ mile east of downtown Valparaiso, north side of Main Rd). Spirit Catholic Radio will have the inspirational Eucharistic Miracles on display. Many wines, craft beers, and food samples will be offered. $10 admission includes a complimentary glass and 5 sample tickets. Proceeds to support St. John Nepomucene School, UNL Newman Center, Local K of C vocational program & local K of C graduating High School senior scholarship fund.
