Goal: Our goal at PMS is to provide students with opportunities to reach mastery of content.
StudentsCHOICE (FULL CREDIT) Procedures:
- Students have up to 5 days to initiate with the teacher the retest process.
- Students who initiate the process may retake a different version of the original test. Students may retake ONLY one major test per content area each nine weeks.
- Students may only retake the same test once. (A Unit or Chapter 1 test can be retested once.) If a student cheats on a test, they are ineligible to participate in the retest policy.
- Teachers, parents, and students must sign this contract documenting that the student has completed at least one of the interventions. The form MUST be submitted the day that the student intends to retest.
- Retake Tests will be administered during homeroom or as scheduled Tuesdays – Thursdays.
- If a student’s retest grade is lower than the original grade, the higher test score will stand.
- The teacher will post the retake grade no later than 10 school days after the test has been given.
Students RECOVERY (MAX GRADE OF 80%) Procedures:
- Students have up to 5 days to initiate with the teacher the recovery process.
- Students who initiate the process may retake a different version of the original test. Students may recover ONLY for tests scoring less than 80%.
- Students may only retake the same test once. (A Unit or Chapter 1 test can be retested once.) If a student cheats on a test, they are ineligible to participate in the retest policy.
- Teachers, parents, and students must sign this contract documenting that the student has completed at least one of the interventions. The form MUST be submitted the day that the student intends to retest.

- If a student’s recovery grade is lower than the original grade, the higher test score will stand.
- The teacher will post the retake grade no later than 10 school days after the test has been given.
- A grade no higher than 80% will be entered for the recovery grade.
INTERVENTIONS: (One of the interventions MUST be completed in order to retest.)
oAttend a tutoring session.
oStudy the material for 1 hour on their own time before the retest date. Students may use content area interactive websites, class notes, textbooks, and workbooks to prepare for the retest.
