Participation: / Senior Event: Players must be born in the year of 1998 or before AND a SENIORlicence holder.
Masters Event: Players must be 30 years of age or older on the day of the event
Junior Event: Players must be born 1995-2000 (all Cadets may also fight in Junior category)

All competitors must bring their judo licence to the weigh-in to confirm grade and eligibility.
Entry numbers will be limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
Maximum Contest Duration: Four minutes Juniors and Senior Ladies, Five minutes Senior men, Three minutes Masters
A WHITE AND BLUE JUDOGI WILL BE COMPULSORY AT THIS EVENT.
NO BLUE JUDOGI = NO CONTEST
IJF Rules will be in operation. With the following British Concessions:
  • No 30 second rule
  • No supplier rule on judogi

Judogi / The wearing of white & blue judogi is COMPULSORY for this event.
The competitor called first for a contest must wear a white suit. The competitor calledsecond for a contest
must wear a blue suit. All competitors must wear a belt of which is appropriate to their grade.
No blue suit = No entry
The NI Open 2015 will adopt the 2014 IJF Judogi Measurement Regulations / Rules which came into force on 1st January 2014.
Please note: The new rules above are in addition to IJF judogi rules. Full judogi Sokuteiki (measurement) rules can be found at on page 18 of the document.
2014 IJF Judogi Measurement Regulations
1)The sleeve: Judogi sleeves must cover up the full arm including wrist in the control position of the judogi jacket (open arms).
2)The jacket: The distance between the sternum top and the lapel crossing point of the jacket vertically must be less than 10cm. The distance between the 2 lapels of the jacket horizontally, needs to be of a minimum of 20 cm.
Please note: No spare judogi will be available to borrow at this event. It is the responsibility of the player that their judogi meets the new judogi requirements.
Please note: The requirement to wear judogi of specific suppliers will not be a rule at this competition.

This tournament is points scoring for promotion purposes.
Seeding: / Seeding for the junior and senior event will be based on the current GB Ranking list

The organisers would like to include additional age bands and weights in the masters events. This
will be based on entries received so early entry is advisable.
Please note: Test scales will be available at registration (where the organisers must be notified of any
weight category changes).
All juniors who competed on the Saturday and are competing in the Cadet event on the Sunday must register and weigh-in for the Cadet event during their allocated times but they will not be required to make their weight category limit.
Players can change weight categories during the registration process (weight changes must
take place prior to the player stepping on the official weigh in scales).
Registration & Weigh-In

the 2014 event) / The official weigh-in will take place on Friday 24th April 2015from
19:00hrs – 21:00hrs at Queens PEC, Belfast (Juniors, Seniors, Masters)
Junior players must weigh-in wearing underwear and will receive a 0.1kgs weight allowance.
All competitors MUST bring their VALID judo licence (BJA or affiliate) to registration and also their record
book showing they meet the minimum grade.
Players must satisfy the minimum weight limit for their category, ie for U73kg must weigh over 66.1kg.
Random Weigh-In
Please note: the IJF random weigh-in process will be in operation at this event. A group of randomly selected players will be requested for a random weigh-on before their first contest. The selected players will be advised of their selection for random weigh-in 45 minutes before the start of competition. The selected player then has 45mins to attend the random weigh-in, and must complete this before their first contest.
The weight of the player cannot be more than 5% higher (without judogi) than the official maximum weight limit of the category. (i.e. a 100kg competitor can weigh a maximum of 105kg without judogi). If any player is over this weight allowance they will not be allowed to compete.

Only coaches with a valid coaching pass will be allowed matside. Only one coach should be matside per player at any one time

Transport: / It is strongly recommended to fly into BELFASTCITYAIRPORT (GEORGEBESTCITYAIRPORT).
No airport transfers will be organised by the NIJF.
Please note that travelling time to the Queens PEC from Belfast City Airport will be approx 20
minutes, and travelling time to the Queens PEC from BelfastInternationalAirport will be approx 45
minutes (subject to traffic).

Directions: / The PEC can be accessed by car from the Ormeau Road, coming from Belfast, turn onto Stranmillis
Embankment and the PEC main car park is on your right; or from the Malone Road, turn into
Stranmillis Road and drive along the river and the PEC car park is on your left.
Doping
Control: / Testing may be conducted by UK Sport
UK Sport may conduct drug testing at this event. Therefore any player entering the event may be
drug tested, and will need to obtain a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) if taking any medication
