PVPV/ RAWLINGS ELEMENTARY

The Ponte Vedra Public Education Foundation (PVPEF) has been successfully serving Ponte Vedra public schools since 1983 providing much needed grants, services, programs, and goods to all (now six) Ponte Vedra public schools. We are a non-profit 501(c)3 organization and reliant solely on donations from the public to provide these essentials to our students. We are so intentional on spending our donations on education that 100% of every dollar goes to our schools.

Grade K-1:“The Tortoise and the Hare…The Musical”-

Aesop’s fable gets a fun updated twist in this musical with audience participation. Bunny Hare wins every race, so how will Thomas Tortoise compete? The famous sports reporter, Howard Crow-sel will be there to call the “play by play” in this fantastic fable with an ANTI-BULLYING message. (Theatreworks)

Grades 3 & 5: “My Imaginary Pirate”-

Jesse McCall is having trouble making friends at his new school, but in spite of that, Jesse isn’t lonely—he’s too busy going on adventures with his imaginary pirate, the Terrible One-Eyed Jack. (Theatreworks)

Grades 2 & 4: “Marsh Madness”-

Through music and song, Roger Day teaches children about their own coastal backyard. Sponsored by the Georgia Sea Grant and the University of Georgia Marine Extension Services, this entertaining and informative program brings vibrant songs about marsh mud, and vulture vomit and brings the beautiful marshes and ecosystems of the Southeast Coast to life in a humorous way that children love! Whitney Traveling Marine Zoo

Docents from the Whitney Laboratory will bring several invertebrate animals to the school for focused experiential learning by second grade students. The docents will create scientific interest by guiding the questions of the students as they touch and observe the animals.

Grades K-5: “Birds of Prey -

A fascinating live demonstration of birds of prey is presented by Doris Mager, an 89 year old dynamo, who teaches appreciation and protections of these birds.

Grades K-5: CAAP (Children’s Access to Art Program) :

A collection of famous art reproductions are brought into the classroom by volunteers to stimulate discussion of art. Funds from the PVPEF purchase new reproductions as needed for the program.

Volunteer readers bring books into the classroom to instill in students the love of reading. Funds from the PVPEF purchase new books for the program as needed.

Grades K-12: ArtWorks2016 :

ArtWorks is an art awards reception showing judged, original student art held at the Marriott at Sawgrass to honor art students and their teachers. Winning pictures from each school are displayed on billboards in front of the schools.

Grades K-12: Teacher Mini-Grant Program :

$20,000 is given to support teacher’s innovative ideas to increase learning in the classroom. Funding is awarded through grant applications.
