Nikfest 2008
What: A weekend of fun gaming, concentrating on Blitzkrieg Commander and Cold War Commander – but also including any other wargames that attendees want to play. Nikfest will incorporate attendance at the Legionary 2008 wargames show in Exeter where we will be putting on 3 games of BKC & CWC & potentially Pete’s sci-fi variant.
Please note: this is not a tournament – this is designed to be a relaxed and fun event. Competitive play is encouraged of course, but the spirit & motto of Nikfest is “Fun, fast & furious”!!!

Please note: I am not making any profit from this – costs will be shared equally amongst attendees – so the more people we get, the cheaper it will be!
Facilities: Nikfest will be based in Dunster Tithe Barn – a newly restored medieval building in the heart of the village.
It has wonderful facilities, including a spacious free car park, fully equipped kitchen, toilets & is fully accessible. The venue is alcohol-friendly and is non-smoking throughout.

Programme:
Friday 29th February: From 12 noon: arrivals, settle into accommodation.
Afternoon: casual gaming / set-up / meet & greet.
Evening: BKC / CWC gaming
Saturday 1st March: 8am: load up & leave Dunster – travel in convoy to Exeter [across Exmoor]
9.15am: arrival & set-up for Legionary 2008

Food arrangements: In terms of eating there are a number of options for Friday & Saturday night - ranging from a fish & chip / McDonald's run; through delivered pizza / chicken / kebabs; to pub & buffet/ menu - right up to full-on restaurant shenanigans
If people are keen on a buffet in the pub, I can arrange this – please let me know…
Refreshments: I will arrange for tea / coffee / squash to be available throughout at the Tithe Barn
Alcohol: I can arrange for alcohol supplies to be on-hand at the Tithe Barn, and can do so at cost. I would propose providing some local beers & ciders, a popular brand of bottled lager and red/white wine.
If anyone has any particular requests, let me know. You are more than welcome to bring your own supplies [there is a Tesco in Minehead]
Saturday night: Ideas for unwinding after a hard day at Legionary:
§ poker / blackjack / other card games
§ different wargames that people would like to play - feel free to suggest anything I might have [eg NapoleonicMaster, ECWarmaster, WFB, 40k, Legends of the Old West, Mordheim, Lord of the Rings, etc etc]
§ gamer's pub quiz - team event
§ one-off whacky game - I've got a few of these, ranging from zombie-survival, through chariot-racing, to Deathball to tank-tag...
§ DVD film-show - with beer & popcorn: - I've got plenty of suitable films, or bring your own...
§ any more ideas???
Sunday morning: Optional: quick walking tour of Dunster – would last about 1 hour, no difficult terrain J
I would suggest starting this at 10am for those that wanted to – anyone else can start gaming
Prizes: I'm thinking of trying to gain some sponsorship for prizes (just for fun – again, this is NOT a tournament) - if anyone's got links to games companies etc, let me know
Similarly, we could add a small amount to the cost of Nikfest & I could sort out some t-shirts or a coffee mug or something as a souvenir
