A HOUSE RESOLUTION
TO EXPRESS THE PROFOUND SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES UPON THE PASSING OF MICHAEL “MIKE” COPELAND MORROW OF LEE COUNTY AND TO EXTEND THEIR DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HIS LARGE AND LOVING FAMILY AND HIS MANY FRIENDS.
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives were saddened to learn of the death of Michael “Mike” Copeland Morrow at the age of sixtyseven on Tuesday, May 10, 2016; and
Whereas, a son of the late Hubert Boles and Isabel Copeland Morrow, he graduated from Bishopville High School and attended the University of South Carolina; and
Whereas, for twentytwo years, Mr. Morrow was employed at the H. B. Robinson Nuclear Power Plant, and at the time of his death, he was the owner of Morrow Oil Company in Bishopville, a family company and landmark in Bishopville for fifty years, and he was an avid MOPAR enthusiast; and
Whereas, with deep commitment to his community, he served as a member of the Bishopville City Council and on the Bishopville Fire Department for many years; and
Whereas, together with his beloved wife of fortytwo years, Judy King Morrow, he reared three fine children: Michael Copeland Morrow, Jr.; Kristen Morrow Polis; and Stephanie Morrow Gochnauer. They blessed him with the love of six grandchildren: Emma and Michael Morrow III, Madison and Harry Polis III, and Reese and Olivia Gochnauer; and
Whereas, Mr. and Mrs. Morrow attended Bishopville’s Day Star Mission, and he could often be heard around town singing favorite hymns about the Savior he dearly loved with great joy and gusto; and
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are grateful for the life and legacy of Mike Morrow and for the example of service and kindness he set for all who knew him. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, express their profound sorrow upon the passing of Michael “Mike” Copeland Morrow of Lee County and extend their deepest sympathy to his large and loving family and his many friends.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mike Morrow.
