A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE MRS. FLORIA EADDY UPON THE OCCASION OF HER ONE HUNDREDTH BIRTHDAY ON FEBRUARY 14, 2016, AND TO WISH HER A JOYOUS BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION AND MANY YEARS OF CONTINUED HEALTH AND HAPPINESS.

Whereas, the members of the Senate are pleased to learn that Mrs. Floria Eaddy will celebrate her one hundredth birthday on February 14, 2016; and

Whereas, born on February 14, 1916 in Johnsonville, South Carolina, Mrs. Eaddy is the daughter of the late Wesley Bartell and Ada Stuckey Bartell; and

Whereas, Mrs. Eaddy was raised in Johnsonville. It was there that she learned many of life’s lessons, attended school, and worked; and

Whereas, she and her late husband Willie James Eaddy were blessed with seven children, five of whom are still living. They lived in Pamplico, South Carolina; and

Whereas, now at the age of one hundred, Mrs. Eaddy shows how much she has learned and is able to teach others about life. She never lets her age stop her from living a productive life; and

Whereas, Mrs. Eaddy is an active member of Saint Mark AME Church. She sings with the senior choir and is a member of the Missionary. She is the coordinator for the senior citizen bus group for the Spring Branch Community, and she is a member of Salem United Methodist Church’s senior citizen group; and

Whereas, Mrs. Eaddy still enjoys farming, gardening, sewing, quilting, cooking, and caregiving. She is a wonderful quilter and is part of a quilting club. Mrs. Eaddy cooks dinner for her family every Sunday and takes time to check on the sick and elderly of the surrounding communities. She is also an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star; and

Whereas, Mrs. Eaddy is loved by her many friends and family members. She still lives an active, productive life. She has been blessed with a life filled with wisdom, love, and honor. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the Senate, by this resolution, congratulate Mrs. Floria Eaddy upon the occasion of her one hundredth birthday on February 14, 2016, and wish her a joyous birthday celebration and many years of continued health and happiness.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Floria Eaddy.
