RACE 1 – TASMANIAN MINI TROTTERS CUP PACE DIVISION ONE – 2090 METRES

Stewards approved Taylor Ford to replace Christian Salter as the driver of PHAROAHS WRATH due to no suitable senior driver being available.

PHAROAHS WRATH pulled hard throughout.

OUR MADDYS STAR NZ broke on the latter part of the home turn and as a result fell inconveniencing IDEN MAKIN TIME. OUR MADDYS STAR NZ underwent a post-race veterinary examination which found the mare to have minor abrasions above its left eye and left knee. Driver Dylan Ford was examined by the on course ambulance officers.

GAVRAIL was held up for a clear racing room in the home straight until the concluding stages.

IDEN MAKIN TIME (Paul Williams) shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages inconveniencing BONA FIDE HUSTLER and THATSWHATSHESAID. Mr Williams was advised to stop using the whip and to straighten his drive when in similar circumstances.

RACE 2 – MAGNIFICENT MARTEN PACE – 2090 METRES

BISPING and SPEEDMAKER pulled hard in the score up.

JETCRAFT NZ which tired over the last 600 metres to be beaten 78 metres underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no apparent abnormalities. Driver Gareth Rattray could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance. Trainer Zeke Slater was disappointed in the gelding’s performance and could offer no explanation other than that it was thegeldingsfirst up race for 11 months. Subsequent to the meeting trainer Zeke Slater reported that the gelding had pulled up well and it is the connections intention to race the gelding again in the coming weeks. Connections were advised that JETCRAFT NZ has been placed on its last chance to race truly.

SHEAS DELIGHT who tired in the home straight underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no apparent abnormalities. Driver Samuel Rawnsley reported that the filly was up in class and in his opinion failed to respond to his driving from the 700 metres. Mr Rawnsley further stated that the filly may have come to the end of its preparation.

RACE 3 – TASMANIAN PREMIERS BREEDERS PLATE – 2090 METRES

HILLVIEW JAKE hung out racing down the back straight on the first occasion.

PAUL DONALD who tired from the bell to be beaten 85 metres underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer/driver Paul Mascall reported that it was his intention to spell the gelding. Connections have been advised that PAUL DONALD has been stood down from racing for a period of 14 days and until the completion of two satisfactory trials.

Stewards queried driverRohan Hillier as to the apparent poor performance of SOHO CHELSEA who performed below market expectations. Mr Hillier reported that the gelding had pulled hard throughout the event and was striking the wheel of its sulky. Passing the 1200 metres he elected to move to the outside of the leader in an attempt to settle the gelding.

IDEN AMRAK was held up for clear racing room in the home straight.

Over the last 100 metres SOHO CHELSEA and IDEN AMRAK locked wheels.

RACE 4 – UBET PACE – 2090 METRES

SPOT NINE tired over the last 600 metres.

CISKEI was held up for clear racing room entering the home straight.

Driver Zeke Slater (SPOT NINE) was reminded of his obligations in regards to shouting during the race.

RACE 5 – ROSEDALE STUD PACE – 2090 METRES

Driver Taylor Ford(CRANBRE) was required to make a gear adjustment during the preliminary as a hopple strap become undone.

NITRO BLUE raced rough after the start.

BRAVO CHARLIE pulled hard in the middle stages.

Driver Taylor Ford (CRANBRE) was reprimanded pursuant to AR 156(3)(b) for using the whip in more than a wrist and elbow flicking motion.

RACE 6 – TALBOT TAVERN FREE FOR ALL – 2090 METRES

Connections advised stewards that DEVENDRA would look to be driven forward if circumstances permitted in tonight’s event. Stewards approved the change of tactics. DEVENDRA led the event after showing gate speed.

Connections advised Stewards that MOTU CRUSADER NZ would look to be driven forward tonight. Stewards approved the change of tactics. MOTU CRUSADER NZ worked forward in the early stages to race outside the leader.

TRULY BLISSFULL pulled hard throughout the event.

VANDE VELDE hung out in the home straight on the first occasion.

VANDE VELDE was held up for clear racing room in early part of home straight.

RACE 7 – BREEDERS SEMINAR PACE DIVISION TWO – 2090 METRES

Trainers Ben Rossendell (WARRIOR MAC) and Christopher Howlett (FRANKIE FALZONI) made an application to Stewards for Justin Howlett to drive WARRIOR MAC in this event as Justin Howlett had a small ownership share of FRANKIE FALZONI. Acting under the power of AR 152 (1) Stewards approved the application.

Approaching the first turn SCRUFFY JAKE and BUCKINGHAM BOY locked wheels,severely inconveniencing both horses. BUCKINGHAM BOY was then retired from the event as the sulky of this gelding sustained a flat tyre during the incident.

WARRIOR MAC tired from the 500 metres.

ROCKBANK DANCER hung in approaching the 400 metres.

THE BIG PARADE was held up for clear racing room in the home straight until the concluding stages.

BUCKINGHAM BOY has been placed back in the mobile barrier draw.

RACE 8 – CROWN INN PONTVILLE PACE – 2090 METRES

TALES OF THE CITY NZ hung in in the score up.

PUNTER KARALTA and WITCH MASTER hung in entering the back straight on the final occasion and contacted marker pegs.

DRUNK ARTIST pulled hard on occasions and then tired in the home straight contacting marker pegs.

RACE 9 – HOBART BELMONT PACE – 1609 METRES

GUESSWHAT which hung out in the score up and was out of position at the start has been placed on its last chance in the draw for future mobile start events. The filly then raced rough after the start and broke approaching the first turn. GUESSWHAT has been placed on its last chance to race truly.
