Comments / Explanations:

*Trainers Scott Brunton and John Blacker were each respectively fined $50 under the provisions of LR 13.3 for the late notification of their riders.

RACE 1 – TASBONUS NOMS CLOSE NEXT WEEK 2YO & UPWARDS MAIDEN PLATE – 900 METRES

Under Milkwood was slow into stride (1L).

Here Comes Trouble jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride (2L).

Approaching the 600 metres, Pop A Lefty laid out carrying We’ll Get By out onto Paleface Presto, which shifted wider, bumping Zanibar.

Approaching the 400 metres, Paleface Presto (Rasit Yetimova) was held up behind Quest For Home, before shifting wider and bumping with Zanibar. Rasit Yetimova was advised to exercise more care when in similar circumstances.

Zanibar raced wide throughout.

Grant Challinger, rider of Here Comes Trouble, reported that his mount was reluctant to stretch out throughout the race. Here Comes Trouble was issued with a warning for being uncompetitive.

RACE 2 – BOAGS DRAUGHT 2YO & UPWARDS MAIDEN PLATE – 1150 METRES

Black Hills and Geegee Hot Novel raced wide throughout.

Sphero was inclined to hang out near the 600 metres.

Appassionata was held up for a clear run from the 500 metres, until obtaining a run to the outside of the tiring United Nation near the 300 metres.

Real Playboy was held up approaching the 400 metres.

Princess Atilla laid in near the 300 metres and again over the final 100 metres.

Daniel Ganderton, rider of Monteforte, was reprimanded for using the whip in consecutive strides prior to the 100 metres.

Vanessa Medhurst, rider of United Nation, which tired from the 400 metres, felt that in her opinion the gelding may have choked down. Subsequent to the race meeting Trainer Shirley Berger reported that it is her intention to trial the gelding in a tongue tie before his next race start.

RACE 3 – TASRACING TALK @ TASRACING.COM.AU MAIDEN/CLASS 1 PLATE – 1880 METRES

Made To Fly (2L) and Visscher (1L) were slow into stride.

Flying Dami jumped out at the start and bumped Shinziggy.

Pinjewel jumped in at the start, tightening Baumgartner for room onto Full Magnum.

Full Magnum raced wide in the early and middle stages and over-raced.

Cold Steel was momentarily inconvenienced by Flying Dami (Georgie Catania) at the 250 metres when Flying Dami laid in under pressure. Georgie Catania was reminded of her obligations to straighten her mounts in similar circumstances.

Vanessa Medhurst and Grant Challinger were reminded of their obligations in using the whip forward of the horse’s shoulder.

RACE 4 – TAPETA SERIES IN AUGUST BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP (DIV 1) – 1150 METRES

Seven Falls over-raced in the early and middle stages. Boris Thornton, rider of the gelding, felt that the gear change to a visor may have been a contributing factor.

Good And Hot raced wide throughout.

Aslanyon laid out approaching the 600 metre turn.

Guru Rez was held up from the 500 metres to the 300 metres, behind the tiring Serpents View and then again over the concluding stages.

Over the concluding stages, Aslanyon (Victor Wong) shifted out, carrying Alilad out onto Good And Hot, which was tightened and had to be steadied momentarily. Victor Wong was issued with a reprimand and advised to correct his mounts sooner.

RACE 5 – BIRDCAGE TAVERN BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP (DIV 2) – 1150 METRES

Rollinginthedeep was slow intro stride (1L).

Soon after the start, Cuprona Road had to steady when tightened for room between Before All and Wanaea, who shifted out.

Before All raced wide throughout.

Wanaea over-raced in the middle stages.

Cuprona Road was held up from the 500 metres to the 300 metres.

Approaching the 50 metres, Cuprona Road laid in carrying Wanaea inwards.

Jake Duffy, rider of Miss Yearn, which performed below market expectations, reported that the mare failed to respond to his riding from the 400 metres and in his opinion does not handle synthetic tracks.

Sherry Barr, rider of Before All, reported that her mount felt amiss in its action towards the winning post. Before All underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have mild dehydration.

RACE 6 – SIMONS DESIGN CENTRE CLASS 1 HANDICAP – 1000 METRES

Great Delight (2L) and Jonolly Lass (1L) jumped awkwardly and were slow into stride.

Sherry Barr (Bring Me Sunshine) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR137(a), the carelessness being that approaching the 900 metres; Ms Barr allowed her mount to shift inwards carrying Tangerine Queen in onto Yeah Nah Whatever, which had to be checked to avoid the heels of that mare. Stewards deemed the interference to be of a medium level and carelessness to be of a low level. Ms Barr’s licence to ride in races was suspended for one (1) Tasmanian race meeting commencing at midnight 5 July 2015 and to expire midnight 7 July 2015. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account Ms Barr’s guilty plea, good record and that the carelessness was in the low range.

Approaching the 600 metres, Lord Mahinda shifted out bumping Yeah Nah Whatever which in turn bumped with Armagonnagettem.

Near the 600 metres, Moneypenny had to be restrained to avoid the heels of Tangerine Queen.

Raquel Clark, rider of Moneypenny, was advised to exercise more care when racing close to the heels of the runners in front near the 400 metres.

Armani was inclined to hang in in the home straight.

Seajamm laid in over the final 100 metres.

Approaching the 50 metres, Yeah Nah Whatever and Lord Mahinda were held up and tightened for room between Jonolly Lass, which shifted out slightly and Roser’s Quest which was laying in under pressure.

Daniel Ganderton, rider of Armarni, was reprimanded for using his whip forward of the horse’s shoulder.

Bring Me Sunshine underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have a small cut to its right hip.

Boris Thornton pleaded guilty to a charge of misconduct pursuant to AR 83(a) in that he used foul language on the home turn towards Raquel Clark. Boris Thornton was fined the sum of $100.

RACE 7 – R & J PUBLISHING CLASS 2 HANDICAP – 1350 METRES

Zabibo underwent a pre race veterinary inspection at the barriers after rider Georgie Catania felt the gelding was uncomfortable in its action. Zabibo was passed suitable to race.

Kool Kash underwent a pre race veterinary inspection after becoming cast in the barrier. Kool Kash was passed suitable to race.

Geegees Drummerboy raced wide early.

Kool Kash over-raced in the early and middle stages.

Approaching the 600 metres, Don’t Tell Kayla raced awkwardly and shifted out.

RACE 8 – HELLOWORLD FOURWAYS BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP – 1650 METRES

Repudiate, Flying Cruiser and Royal Express were all slow into stride.

Flying Cruiser raced wide throughout.

Magnasa was held up from the 500 metres to the 300 metres.

Georgie Catania, rider of Western Front, reported that the gelding felt amiss in its action. Western Front underwent a post race veterinary examination and no obvious abnormalities were detected.

RACE 9 – SPORTSBET.COM.AU BENCHMARK 72 HANDICAP – 1880 METRES

Am I There Yet (2L) and Talent Code (1L) were slow into stride.

Am I There Yet (Vanessa Medhurst) raced wide in the middle stages before taking up a more forward position. Vanessa Medhurst reported that her mount over-raced and despite her best efforts was unable to restrain her mount.

Cherry Dancer laid in in the home straight.

Staples Gee Gee laid out in the home straight.

Stewards intend to inquire into the whip use of Grant Challinger.
