2014 Western Canadian Championships
Saturday, October 4, 2014, Calgary Alberta
This will be a multisport event, with Powerlifting, Olympic Weightlifting, Strongman and Crossfit competitions all happening simultaneously, on a Saturday afternoon. Magnus ver Magnusson will guest judge Strongman.
Entries are limited to the first EIGHTY (80) Powerlifting entries, without exception. There will be two competition platforms, located in separate areas of the facility, with lifting on both simultaneously.
Note: No Bench only at this event, Western Bench will take place at a later date and location.

Sanctioned by: Canadian Powerlifting Union, under CPU and International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) rules.
Competition Venue: Calgary Northeast Sports Facility / Strive Fitness, 401 33 Street NE, Calgary
Weigh In: 9:00 am for all women and men up to 74 kg, 11:00 am for men’s 83 plus. (subject to change)
Age Categories & Weight Classes: Age and weight categories will be in accordance with CPU rules.
Age categories: Sub-Junior (14-18), Junior (19-23), Open (any age), Master I (40-49), Master II (50-59), Master III (60-69), Master IV (70-79) (Note: Master IV is men only)
Female weight classes: 43kg, 47kg, 52kg, 57kg, 63kg, 72kg, 84kg, 84+kg
Male weight classes: 53kg, 59kg, 66kg, 74kg, 83kg, 93kg, 105kg, 120kg, 120+kg
(Women’s 43kg and men’s 53kg only apply to sub-junior and junior competitors)
Competitors: This event is open to all CPU members who have achieved the required “Regional” level qualifying total in Unequipped or Equipped. Go to http://powerlifting.ca/qual_totals.html to verify.
Awards: 1st to 3rd in each age/weight class, and Best Lifters.
Doping Control: The CPU follows the rules and regulations of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). By competing in this competition, you accept the possibility of being selected for doping control. There WILL be testing at this event.
Entry Deadline: Postmarked September 19, 2014. No late entries will be accepted
