The Ecclesia CollegeBaseball Showcase is for high school baseball players who have aspirations to play baseball at the next level. It will be a pro style workout featuring evaluations times on the 60 yard dash, positional velocity, pitching velocity, bat speed, position specific drills, and will conclude with a live game style scrimmage. We have invited over 25collegiate programs to attend our showcase to give each player maximum exposure throughout the region. PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL SHOWCASE EVALUATIONS WILL BE EMAILED TO EACH OF THE COLLEGIATE PROGRAMS LISTED IN OUR PACKET.

About Ecclesia Baseball

In the first two years of the program’s history the Ecclesia Royals have produced back-to-back winning seasons. The Royals, led by Head Coach DerrionHardie, are affiliated with the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) and plays all NAIA and NCAA teams during the regular and post seasons. In 2014, the Royals to a 27-26 record in the program's second year and finished #19 in the final NCCAA national rankings. On the mound, the Royals’ pitching staff finished the year nationally ranked 17th in strikeouts (284) averaging 5.3 strikeouts per game. Justin Southerland (So/RHP) from Bigalow, AR finished nationally ranked 6th in strike outs (78), 10th in ERA (2.14) and tied for 25th in wins (6). Offensively, the Royals finished the year nationally ranked 9th in OBP (.397), 16th in runs scored (309), 16th in walks (184), 21st in batting average (.292), 22nd in runs batted in (239), 25th in stolen bases (85) and 25th in slugging percentage (.369). Individually at the plate, Eckersley Villasmil (So/UT) from Maracaibo, Venezuela and Guy Halbert (Fr/3B) from Lonoke, AR finished tied at 17th in the nation in batting average (.395).Halbert also finished nationally at 5th in on base percentage (.515) and Villasmil 17th in runs batted in (40). Four Royals received All-Central Region honors.Villasmil was selected 1st Team, Gerry Sifuentes (Jr/2B) from Richardson, TX was selected 2nd Team, Southerland was selected Honorable Mention and Halbert was selected Honorable Mention. In addition, Villasmil was selected to the All-Arkansas Collegiate Baseball Team as an Honorable Mention player, which is made up from the state’s colleges/universities that have baseball programs (21) ranging from NCAA D1, D2, D3, NAIA and JUCO players.

In the program's inaugural season, with a roster of 24 freshmen and 2 sophomores, ead Hardie guided the Royals to the #1 seed for the Central Region Tournament, finishing as the runner-up and one game away from the NCCAA Division I College World Series. For their efforts, the Royals finished the year with a 27-22 record and #18 in the final NCCAA national rankings. On the mound, the Royals pitching staff finished the year nationally ranked 6th in strike outs (301) averaging 7.40 strike outs per game. David Torres (Fr/RHP) from Maracaibo, Venezuela finished ranked 11th in earned run average (2.45) and 6th with strike outs (72). Justin Southerland (Fr/RHP) from Bigelow, AR finished nationally ranked 8th with strike outs (67). Statistically as an offensive team, the Royals finished the year nationally ranked 12th in batting average (.298), 14th in slugging percentage (.397), 7th in on base percentage (.394), 13th in runs scored (265), 19th in runs batted in (215), 20th in doubles (68), 23rd in walks (140) and 15th in stolen bases (71). Individually at the plate, Chris Rega (Fr/OF) from Conway, AR and Randy Montes de Oca (Fr/DH) from Ciudad Ojeda, Venezuela finished the year nationally ranked 2nd and 7th respectively in doubles. Two of Hardie's players were recognized at the national and regional levels in the Royals' first year of play. Eckersley Villasmil (Fr/C) from Maracaibo, Venezuela was selected as an Honorable Mention All-American and 1st Team All-Central Region player. In addition, David Torres (Fr/RHP), also from Maracaibo, Venezuela,joined Villasmil on the All-Central Region 1st Team.Villasmil hit .348 with 8 doubles, 2 home runs and 26 runs batted in.Villasmil was the cog of the Royals defense, neutralizing opponent’s running game, throwing out 38 base runners in just 45 stolen base attempts. Torres was a deceptive 4-7 on the mound, but the Central Region Selection Committee took notice that in 59.1 innings of work, he gave up just 24 earned runs, had 72 strike outs and an earn run average of 2.45 facing most opponents #1 or #2 pitcher during a weekend series.

Royals Baseball has not only found success on the field in its first two years of collegiate baseball, but in the classroom as well with a 3.15 cumulative grade point average (GPA).

And we (or I) agree to indemnify Ecclesia College, the City of Springdale, the showcase, and its employees for any claim that may hereafter be presented by our (or my) player as a result of any such injuries.
