2013 Fall Small Group Menu
There are three types of groups to choose from…
1) Connect Groups- Groups meet for casual fun and friendship.
2) Disciple Groups- Groups meet for bible study.
3) Compassion Groups- Groups to serve others in the community.
How to register
Registration for groups can be completed using this form found at our Welcome Table or online at shawneepark.org. Completed forms may be placed in offering baskets or in basket at welcome table. Upon registering you will be contacted with more information.
Fall 2013 Offerings
Connect Groups
Dinner Groups- Families of all ages meet monthly for dinner. First group dinner is Saturday, September 28th at SPCC Fellowship Hall. The whole family, children and students, are welcome and encouraged to participate. Meeting times and places vary by group. Group Contact: David and Karen Ferbezar. Email: .
Joy Group- Retired and senior adults meet the first Wednesday of each month for lunch, trips to sites around the city, or to hear guest speakers on topics of interest to seniors. Group contact is Betty Salts. Email: .
Childrens’ Ministry Families- Events for families connected to our SPCC Children’s Ministry. Group contact is Malinda Spangler. Email: .
Book Club- Power Of Intention- Casual book study group related to leadership. Group contact is Kyle Smith. Email: .
Ladies’ Bunco Group- Women of all ages meet for bunco and fellowship each week. Don’t know Bunco? We’ll teach you. Group contact is Ann Morton. Email:
Compassion Groups
Micah Team- Meets first Monday of the month to serve at a local soup kitchen (Micah Ministries) followed by a meal out in Kansas City for fellowship. Group meets at church in parking lot at 4:30pm to ride together and is back at the church by 8 pm. Due to age restrictions at Micah, only high school aged or above can participate. Shawnee Community Services Bread Ministry- Volunteers deliver bread on a weekly or, monthly, or as needed basis from local restaurants to be shared with our neighbors in need. Group contact is Beth Sonneville. Email:
Recycling Team- First Sunday of each month in church lobby. Drops off or helps collect aluminum tabs/cans, Box Top$, Campbell's Labels for Education, Best Choice Brand UPCs, and Hy-Vee Baby Bucks to support cost of utilities at Shawnee Community Services. Group contact is Beth Sonneville. Email: .
Community Dinner Table- Meets weekly on Thursdays to serve meals to seniors and others in need at Grace United Methodist Church in Olathe. Group contact is Dee Grier. Phone: 913-522-7830.
