2014ALPHA NU STATE SCHOLARSHIP
The scholarship committee has allocated $1500 to be split between qualified applicants. (Maximum award per individual is $750.) Up to 35%of the $1500 may be awarded to an individual for a Road Scholar (Elderhostel) experience.
REQUIREMENTS AND CONDITIONS:
- Applicants must have been active DKG members for at least two years.
- Credits are to be for master, doctorate, specialist, or other graduate level work or for a Road Scholar experience.
- Recipients will be expected to remain active members of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International so that the Society may benefit from their experience.
- Recipients will provide a follow-up letter summarizing the credit work or experience with the expectation of having the information used at a DKG meeting, workshop, or newsletter article, preferably at the state level.
- In order to allow as many members as possible to benefit from the limited funds available for scholarship, successful applicants are limited to ONE academic scholarship and ONE Road Scholar award.
DIRECTIONS FOR APPLYING:
- Submit a completed application form furnished by the state scholarship committee to your chapter president for her signature.
- Send the application to the state scholarship chairpostmarked (or sent electronically) before May 1st.
- Include a small photo of yourself (preferably a digital photo) for potential news releases.
- Forward three letters of recommendation with reference to this award with the application.
ACCEPTANCE OF THE AWARD:
- Notification letters will be sent by May 20th.
- Acceptance or rejection letters from the recipients must be received by scholarship chair no later than June 1st.
- Alternates will be informed as soon as possible if the selected candidates are unable to accept.
Note: More than one application from a chapter may be submitted.
