l  Courses

1) Course for sparring coaches:

a.  Dates: June. 18 (Mon) - July. 1, 2012 (Sun) (2 weeks)

b.  No of participants: 20 / coaches only

c.  National quota: two per country in principle

d.  Age limit: 20 years old or older in principle

e.  Application deadline: June. 15, 2012

2) Course for sparring, Poomsae & Demonstration athletes:

a.  Dates: July. 16 (Mon) – 29, 2012 (Sun) (2 weeks)

b.  No of participants: 40 / athletes only

c.  National quota: two per country in each category

d.  Age limit: 20 years old or under in principle

e.  Application deadline: July. 13, 2012

3) Course for Taekwondo Camp:

a. Dates: Aug. 6 (Mon) – 12, 2012 (Sun) (7 days)

b. No of participants: 50 / practitioners

c. National quota: two per country in principle

d. Age limit: No

e. Application deadline: Aug. 1, 2012

4) Course for refresher training:

a. Dates: Oct. 8 (Mon) – 21, 2012 (Sun) (2 weeks)

b. No of participants: 20 / athletes only

c. National quota: two per country in principle

d. Age limit: no limit

e. Application deadline: Oct. 1, 2012

5) Course for Poomsae & demonstration coaches:

a.  Dates: Nov. 12 (Mon) – 25, 2012 (Sun) (2 weeks)

b.  No of participants: 20 / athletes only

c.  National quota: two per country in principle

d.  Age limit: No

e.  Application deadline: Oct. 1, 2012

Place of education & accommodation: Kyung Hee University

(Global Campus in Gyeonggi Province)

l  Conditions:

a.  Roundtrip airfares: To be paid by the participant or pertinent National Association. However, airfares may be reimbursed by the WTF to the national association through the deduction from the WTF development Fund, subject to prior approval by the WTF.

b.  Tuition fee/room & board: To be jointly supported by the WTF and KHU.

c.  Arrival in Korea: One or two days before the start of the program

d.  Insurance: Participants are required to be insured before their arrival in Korea.

e.  Duration of stay: Participants are required to shift out of their accommodation from Kyung Hee University no later than two (2) days after the completion of the course.

f.  Daily allowance: Member National Associations should ensure that their participants have adequate daily allowances during the period of the course. The WTF or Kyung Hee University will not be responsible for any other expenses than tuition fees and room & board.

Content of education: Taekwondo philosophy, Nutrition for TKD players, Strategy of sparring, Poomsae rules, Poomsae, Sparring, Demonstration & self-defense, TKD aerobic, Korean language, Korean culture, First aids & Taping, Sports massage etc.

Local transportation: Cost of local transportation between Incheon Airport and Suwon should be paid by participants, who will be picked up at a place in Suwon designated by KHU. Details will be provided when KHU sends its acceptance of application.

l  Certification: Graduation certificates jointly signed by the presidents of the WTF and Kyung Hee University will be awarded to participants who successfully complete their courses at the end of the program.

* Note: Participants who do not meet the standards for the course will not be awarded the certificates.

Documents for application:

a.  Application form signed by the president of the pertinent Member National Association

b.  Curriculum vitae and photo of the applicant

c.  Recommendation letter signed by the president of the pertinent Member National Association

d.  Copy of Kukkiwon Dan certificate

(Exception. Applicants who participate the ‘Taekwondo Camp’ with color belt will be substituted by Masters recommendation letter)

e.  Copy of insurance policy in the name of the applicant

Selection of participants: First-come-first-served basis. Nonetheless, special

consideration will be made for countries where taekwondo is less developed.

Announcement of successful applicants: Member National Association will be notified via fax or e-mail on the acceptance of the application as soon as the KHU receives all related documents for application.
