Defensive Ability:

Brice Harrison 2014 Evans High School Harrison had zero passed balls in 13 innings of work catching unfamiliar pitchers. He showed extremely good blocking skills and receiving skills. He does a nice job of staying soft both receiving and blocking. Arm Strength was adequate we consistently clocked Harrison in the 2.0 range during the game. His weakness is overall body strength. If he gets stronger he could be a great prospect.

Taylor Glover 2013 Greenbrier High School Glover has a mature frame but stays soft behind the dish. He has a good college arm 1.90-2.0 and quick release. He showed good receiving skills and blocking skills. Glover is a polished looking catcher that can handle a pitching staff.Very good leadership skills. Glover should be able to contribute at the Division I level.

Bobby Tippett 2013 Lakeside Dekalb Tippett has a very good release and arm strength 1.90. He did a nice job of handling pitchers and calling games setting up hitters. Nice blocking skills that translates to a solid DII catcher.

Wyatt Holloway 2013 Camden County High Holloway has a very good arm 87MPH on the mound. He stays low and works with his pitching staff. His frame is excellent 6ft 190lb type body with wide shoulders. He is a classic catch and throw guy and should fit nicely into a possible two way role also as a pitcher at the DII level.

Matt Anderson 2015 Evans High School Anderson had the best armstrength in the group 1.85 to 2.00. He has a lightening quick delivery. Blocking skills and receiving skills are still raw but he is a very young catcher. Guy has a pro arm.

Austin Matson 2013 Upson Lee Matson is more of an offensive guy but does a solid job catching the baseball. Matson has an average arm at 2.0 -2.10 for the college level. He does a nice job blocking the baseball. Delivery is a little slow and if he cleans this up the pop times will come down. Very good power hitter middle of the order guy.

Armstrength:

1. Matt Anderson 2015 Evans High: Anderson has a rocket arm. He throws 85MPH on the mound and it is a very lively quick release. 1.85-2.00

2. Wyatt Holloway 2013 Camden County: Holloway is a power body guy with a strong arm. He is 1.90 with a an average release. Wyatt may move to the mound at the next level because the arm works.

3. Chaz Wilson 2013 Cass High: Wilson has a very good arm. He needs to clean up the defense but the arm is strong at 1.90.

4. Taylor Glover 2013 Greenbrier High: Glover is very polished, good arm strength and smooth release. Very nice on the transition.

5. Brice Harrison 2014 Evans: Harrison is the best technical catcher in the group. He does everything very sound. 2.0 steady pop times. Kid gets stronger then watch out.

Offensive Skills catcher:

1. Austin Matson 2013 Upson Lee: Matson is the most powerful hitter of the entire group. He has a middle of the order bat. He may move out to 3B or 1B at next level but his catching skills are good enough. Big strong power hitting catcher.

2. Taylor Glover 2013 Greenbrier: Glover is not quite as powerful as Matson but provides good lefty hitting abilities that shows a polished. Glover is more of a polished see what you get type guy. He will be a consistent collegiate catcher with a lefty bat.

3. Hunter Fortner 2014 Harrison: Fortner did a nice job hitting over the weekend with 2-4 performance. Young guy with good gap power

4. Brice Harrison 2014 Evans: Harrison is a contact spray lefty hitter that does not strike out. He is a classic two hole hitting put the ball in play type guy that has a great idea of how to hit the baseball. Needs to get stronger.

5. Chaz Wilson 2013 Cass: Wilson showed the ability to put the ball in play over the weekend. He has a very strong frame and we expected more power production but for now just a solid gap hitter.

Overall Catching/Armstrength/Offensive skills

Taylor Glover **** 4 Stars

Brice Harrison *** 3 Stars

Austin Matson *** 3 Stars

Matt Anderson *** * 4 Stars arm is that good/ may end up on mound

Wyatt Holloway ** 2 Stars

Rest of Catching Group

Jay Johnson 2015 Burke County ** 2 stars

Right now Jay is more of an offensive type catcher projects similar to Matson. Very strong body, stocky frame. The switch hitting catcher makes very good contact at the plate and has good power. Johnson will have to clean up his transition on steals and improve accuracy at next stage. He has enough arm to play catcher.

Chaz Wilson ** 2 Stars

Mentioned above

Bobby Tippett ** 2 Stars

Mentioned above

Hunter Fortner 2014 Harrison ** 2 Stars

Fortner is a solid catcher that with time should move up the ladder. He has good technique but will have to improve overall strength over next 2 years. Good high school player right now.

Tyler Chaney ** 2 Stars

Tyler did a nice job during the event. He is just a good High School player right now. He has a pretty good arm and strong body. Offensively he was a little light but makes good contact. Tyler will be a catch and throw guy at next level and will probably get a chance to play somewhere after high school.

Will Dunavant 2015 Lambert High ** 2 Stars

Will is a big strong lefty hitter. He has adequate arm strength. Will will have to really improve receiving and blocking skills to play catcher in college. His size may be a better fit at 1B. He does run pretty good. Great frame very strong. He has some lefty power. Great guy to follow very projectable.

Hunter Watts 2015 Evans*1/2 1.5 Stars

Hunter is athletic and has a pretty strong frame. He just needs to play as many games as possible in high level competition. He has some power at the plate but will need to get more consistent. Good size, good athlete should move up on next three years and become a good prospect.

John Pope III 2013 Griffin High *1/2 1.5 Stars

John has a very big strong frame. He flashes good power and shows some offensive skills at the plate. We think he will be a better prospect at 1B at the next level. Arm is slightly below average right now. Big powerful kid. Might end up being a DH has a chance as a hitter.

Ryan Harris 2013 Luella * 1 Star

Ryan is your average high school catcher right now. He will have to come on with the bat to play in college. Seemed a little late on swings during the games. Big kids may come on in spring when he has more offensive practice time.

Miller Cone 2013 Central Forsyth * 1 Star

Miller plays both outfield and Catcher. He does a good job receiving and blocking. Right now the arm is behind the curve for a senior catcher and may force a move to 3B or 1B. Miller plays hard and is a good high school player. On offense Miller is a gap power guy that should get better with strength improvement.
