Goal #1 Improve student performance through enhancements to curriculum, instruction and assessment

·  Began pilot of Big Ideas and Go Math Programs with goal of implementation of new math program effective mid-year in 2015-16 school year

·  7th Grade Spanish Program with 6 days/6 day cycle program established

·  Full year focus on instructional practices that increase student engagement, e.g. increased peer collaboration

·  Wellness Program restructured to balance course offering for 7th and 8th graders – 6 days of physical education and 3 days of health for 1 trimester

·  Music Program restructured to offer Band, Chorus and Music Class

·  Whole School Book Read – The Revealers – offered through Health Class. Author Dog Wilhelm will spend full day at Frolio on June 4th, courtesy of joint Abington Education Foundation (AEF) and Abington Rotary Club grants

·  Implementation of Instructional Rounds Pilot Program

·  Implementation of monthly FLEX Day to reinforce effective student academic work completion and provide time for team-building activities

Goal #2 Use student performance data to make informed decisions about curriculum, instruction and assessment

·  Development of common assessments in all content areas in 7th and 8th grade and use of results to measure student growth and inform instruction

·  Identified students who were struggling to make effective progress based on subject grades, MCAS scores and attendance and provided remediation and other resources to promote higher achievement levels

·  Data Team Process training within interdisciplinary teams completed for all Frolio faculty and Department Heads/Directors

·  Full implementation of Frolio’s new Character Education Program - Sean Covey’s Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens

·  Implementation of Check and Connect Mentoring Program for identified high risk and at risk students

·  Faculty members participated in Abington Building Committee Programming Meetings, as needed

·  Increased extra-curricular activities to include Running Club, Newspaper Club and Homework Club
