MAY 2012
2011-2012 season has come and gone!
We have had a fantastic, successful season once again. Great fun was had at the Cape Town Nationals to end the season off with a bang! The AGM’s are over and now is the time to relax and enjoy a little rest. Four of our members, Cheryl and David Arbuthnot, Selwyn Sundelowitz and Bronwyn Philipps, will be competing in the Fina Worlds Masters Swimming Champs in Italy from 3rd June to 17th We wish them all, lots of luck and enjoy! Come back safely.
WELCOME TO OUR NEW MEMBERS
Colin Bull and Clive Cotterell, who joined just in time to come with to Cape Town.
For the new season we have had three registering, Hugo Knoetze, Pete Dahlmann and Claire Rolt. We had three new ladies competing under the Coelacanth flag, at the 1st Frostbite gala, Suranne Hudson, Christel du Toit and Leandra Holtzhauzen. They will be joining us soon.
PAST EVENTS
The AGM’s of Tshwane Masters and Coelacanths, were held together on the 5th May, at the Warrant Officers Mess. Awards were handed out , discussions, etc and then a light supper was served afterwards. Thank you to all that came and attended. Thank you Craig for organising the venue.

The schedule for 2012/2013 Season, Tshwane and Gauteng, has been finalized by Helen. Thank you Helen. I will be sending it out to you all shortly.
UPCOMING SOCIAL EVENTS
9th June, 2012 - Celebration dinner at Ocean Basket Menlyn 6.30pm.
23rd June, 2012 – Midyear Braai at Rietvlei Reserve. This invite includes any master swimmer, friends and family. Bring your own meat and drinks, drive around, spot the Rhinos, buck and birdsto settle finally at the picnic spot to enjoy the braai.
Invite will be on the SAMS Website.
CLUB NIGHTS
We will continue to have our club nights at St. Marys School, DSG, Duxbury Road, Hatfield, every Tuesday from 5.30. Notice will be given, re, the date we will be starting, depending on the weather.
FEES
Coelacanth Fee will stay at R350.00 for the new season.
Early Bird Draw: Pay before 30th June and you could be the lucky member drawn,
you will then win your membership fees back.
Cut –off date for SAMS Registration Renewals: 31st August,2012. No penalty.
Any renewals after 31st August will incur a penalty of R100 to SAMS. This is to encourage speedy registration.
There is no penalty for new members.
Cut-off date for Registrations for the season 31st January 2013.
NATIONALS 2013
This will be held at the Newton Park Pool in Port Elizabeth 13th to 17th March, 2013. Accommodation list has been sent out. Dont delay! Plan now, it is going to be amazing!!
