2011-2012 Notable-Musical Education Changes

Notable-Musical Education

September 2011

Welcome!

Located at the corner of West 75th Street and Eden Prairie Road, Notable-Musical Education provides musical experience for the whole family. The new year brings changes which include the addition of a complete vocal music program.

Musical Ventures & Notable Education Merge

In June, Notable Education negotiated the acquisition of Musical Ventures. The new name of our group is Notable-Musical Education. The merger of our programs gives both sets of clients access to a full range of vocal and instrumental lessons and numerous performing groups, including three groups touring internationally during the summer of 2012. The merger makes it practical to Move to a larger building which is located at 16200 West 75th Street. It is being remodeled to accommodate instructional rooms, practice rooms and rehearsal halls for all of the programs. Our former location at Excelsior and Eden Prairie Road now houses our administrative offices. Use the information below when you need to contact us.

twenty-two instructional rooms

A performance venue is planned but may not be ready for the current year. For performances this year we will lease room at facilities in the area as we did last year.

We will have most of our instructors back from both Vocal Ventures and Notable Education for the upcoming year. Scheduling of lessons can be done by phone (952-555-9876) for both new and continuing students. Call early for the greatest choice of times. You can view the schedule on our website at

New Orchestra Director

David Eliason will conduct our Youth Symphony. He has been a conductor of the MINYO, and assistant conductor of the Ontario Musical Society Orchestra. Music has been selected and the first rehearsal will be on September 17, 2011. At 9 p.m. that evening we invite students and parents to join us in the rehearsal hall to welcome our new director. The string quartet “QuienSabe?” will provide background music.

Administrative Director

Julia Lien is now our administrative director. Her office is in the Excelsior location. Currently Julia has concert dates and venues for the winter concerts. A few dates are still available and if you would like to book one of our groups, please call Julia at 952-555-1777.

Retail Services

Our new location will allow us to host various retail merchants as a convenience to our students and families. Rehearsal rooms will also be used during the first two weeks of September for this purpose.

Strings, Inc. will be available to fit and rent violins, violas, cellos and basses in Rehearsal 100.

Wilton Instruments will be in Rehearsal 150 to make the rental or purchase of band instruments more convenient.

Clyde’s Repair will be in Rehearsal C.

Luthiers, Inc. will provide string repairs in Rehearsal F.

Notable Music will be open in the retail area by the lobby where you can purchase music books and accessories.

Summer Tours

During summer 2012 the senior groups (vocal, band and orchestra) will each tour outside the United States. Vocal Hearts is headed to Mexico, the Wind Symphony is planning on Alberta and British Columbia, Canada, and the Youth Symphony is scheduling concerts in Scandinavia. The dates and general plans will be available at the first rehearsal of each group.

Auditions

The traveling groups each require auditions which will start the last week of August. Call 952-555-1777 to schedule an audition. A packet of requirements for international travel will be available at each audition.
